The Danish Poet

Can we trace the chain of events that leads to our own birth? Is our existence just coincidence? Do little things matter? The narrator of The Danish Poet considers these questions as we follow Kasper, a poet whose creative well has run dry, on a holiday to Norway to meet the famous writer, Sigrid Undset. Oscar winner!

My mom was born in Denmark and I write poetry so to be honest, there's where my curiosity about the film lay. However, I giggled with amusement throughout the film. I enjoyed the irony and kismet, creative story telling and extremely (difficult to do) tight script. The tiny sub plot of two dogs who meet and fall in love takes about 5 seconds and there is no sound. Amazing! So for me I loved the smartly fast paced story, cutesy cartoonish animation and of course, all things Danish.

5.0 out of 5 starsWhen you give someone a lock of your hair

You don't cut off twelve inches long and three inches wide. a lock is a small piece. That was so funny, when she cut off so much. It's a very happy story, full of twists and tangles and Rapunzel like hairdos. Very cure hairstyles. The dogs are adorable. One likes to lick shoes. The voice is very calming.

Cute guised as metaphysical. More trite than moving. More cartoon than film.
