I absolutely loved this book. I went into it knowing from another reader that it was about religion, or faith, and since I’m not a religious person, I was very skeptical. I follow a spy and thriller web site and there was another reader that talked about the book, about how much he liked it. I told him about my skepticism and he assured me that as a fan of the authors other books, I would not be disappointed.
I’m so glad I listened to him. I was able to read about the characters’ faith and the theme of good versus evil, without feeling like I was being preached to about religion.
This book was a typical Andrews and Wilson book, great characters and edge of your seat reading.
I highly recommend this book.

Yes, something very, very strange was afoot in Tennessee.

Dark Intercept, by Andrews and Wilson, is a really engaging and suspenseful tale of a recently retired Navy Seal who agrees to help his former childhood friend and his ex-girlfriend rescue their kidnapped daughter. Jedidiah may have the skills to attempt a rescue, but maybe not. The child is... special and there is something strange about the kidnappers as well.I am not typically a reader of “Navy Seal”, “Spy” or those Action Thriller books, but when a friend described its plot to me I just had to check it out. The description reminded me of the fundamental elements of the 2001 Matthew McConaughey movie Frailty, but with Navy Seals. Luckily my local library’s OverDrive account came through for me. I found the book to be quite well written with good pacing and realistic dialogue, for the characters. I’m happy to see this book listed as #1 in the Shepherd Series, meaning I can look forward to more, but I would really like to see it picked up by a company that could turn it into a movie or series, and do it right.
