Boyd Craven has penned over 30 books since becoming a full-time author in late 2014 and early 2015.

He loves to hunt, fish and take long camping trips. He travels across the country in his little yellow truck for events, visiting family in Texas or just getting inspiration. Don't ask him how he got to where he is because he's still trying to figure it out.

Oh yeah, writing about myself in the third person is kind of fun, and just a taste of my sometimes sarcastic sense of humor and snark I seem to idle at. If you like a little clean romance and humor in your end of the world stories, you've come to the right place.

Another good chapter in the Wesley Flagg story. A lot of the book is centered around relationship issues with Wes, Emily and Jessica., but there is enough action between Wes' group and Henry's ban of merry men to keep things focused. Good writing as always, characters are well developed and there are more than a few twists and turns that make for an interesting end of times story. Definitely recommend the series, and looking forward to the next book... if only the author would stop already with the cliffhanger endings, that would be great.

Boyd Craven III may be my very favorite author. I love his sense of humor, his use of language, his accurate portrayals of various personality types, and the way he leverages his (apparent) love of dogs throughout his books. “Darkest Days” is the third is the "Still Surviving" series, following a young man and his beloved German shepherd, Raider, after the nation (world?) loses power. “Darkest Days” has it all: personal conflict, making do with do-it-yourself survival widgets, “quests” to gather needed items, love, conflict, and perhaps some conflict. Did I mention conflict? Oh yeah, and drinking, because during the apocalypse, folks need to keep their spirits up. I truly enjoyed this latest addition to the “Still Surviving” series, and am anxious for the next installment. If you haven’t read Boyd’s other series, “Opus” – take a gander. I hope you enjoy his work as much as I do.

Boyd writes a enjoyable novel. Characters are believable. Story lines always flow well and are well structured. You never leave one of his books feeling like something is missing. Having been born and raised in the back country, the characters for this series are FUN. He treats 'country folk' with respect and doesn't assume they are stupid like it is assumed by big city residents (forking socialists anyway--who cares what they think).
