I have seen friends dive into step family life without any preparation and fail miserably. They did not want to hear anyone tell them that they were not on the right track. It is best to read this whole book before dating and be open to receiving the advise. Perhaps have a trusted friend or family member read it too and ask them to hold you accountable.
I am so glad that we prepared the way we did. Our family is experiencing the redemptive work of the Lord in our home and hearts.
Thanks for your work Ron!
My husband was a single parent, and I the on without any children this book gave me great insight.
My only complaint about this book is the author's constant demand to buy his other books or to attend his seminars. These shameless plugs were annoying and definitely interfered with the flow of the book.

I’m trying to take the messages but I can’t help but feel I’m being preached to.... I wouldn’t have bought this book if I had known.
The author is a professional counsellor, it seems odd that his personal values on religion feature so heavily.
I wish there could be an edited version available without religion, it’s genuinely distracting when reading to a non-religious person like me
