David Suchet, who is himself of Jewish ancestry and raised without religion, came to Christianity at the age of 40. You can clearly see the influence of this in the very Christian tone of the later Poirot series and it was those works that led me to this one.

This documentary provides a very good summary of the life and works of Peter without the usual hateful, atheist revisionism that you might expect from a BBC or PBS documentary on the same subject. I recommend this this both to provide a good historical background on Peter as well as for the simple joy of spending more time with the wonderful David Suchet.

However, how many times did Suchet remind us that "as an actor". We get it. You're an actor. The cameraman focused on Suchet's face quite more often than the historian's face while Suchet interviewed them. Please. Worth watching except for those nagging bits.

We enjoyed watching David Suchet's video series about Saint Peter. Clearly, David is a man of faith, and this comes through in the video series. The photography was great and we got to see places we had never "visited" before. David's discussion and interviews of many people added great depth to the video. My wife and I were blessed to watch this.

I like the way this man's delivers - at least his tone doesn't try to sway but to rather deliver what has been gathered about Jesus...and the text doesn't purport to have all the information...see it as interesting and not decisive.

A great perspective and interesting view of the person

David Suchet tells a beautiful story in this two part series; I enjoyed the flow of the cinematography as it illustrated the subject, with all it's complexities. One does not need be particularly religious in any sense to relax and go on a journey with this documentary. Worth watching for the travel, the legends, and the ancient roots explored in beautiful humanness. Thank you David!

A sensitive and fascinating study of the life and times of St. Peter. David Suchet is a wonderful host -- witty and so full of wonder at the material he presents. The video gave me a much better understanding of the life and times of Jesus and his followers. Well worth repeated viewings.

This is a thorough and thoughtful investigation of Apostle Peter's life. Suchet's questions and commentary projected sincere curiosity--he drew me in!
