A very good summary of the life of Peter made by a very sympathetic narrator.

In case you weren't aware, David Suchet, who is himself of Jewish ancestry and raised without religion, came to Christianity at the age of 40. You can clearly see the influence of this in the very Christian tone of the later Poirot series (Season 11 Episode 4 literally ends with Poirot assuring a young woman who had suffered from a lifetime of abuse that "there is nothing so broken that God Almighty cannot fix it") and it was those works that led me to this one.

This provides a very good summary of the life and works of Peter without the usual hateful, atheist revisionism that you might expect from a BBC or PBS documentary on the same subject. I recommend this this both to provide a good historical background on Peter as well as for the simple joy of spending more time with the wonderful David Suchet.

I found Part 1 of flossing the footsteps of Peter extremely interesting. I love seeing the places he lived and taught come to life and the archeologist findings that give proof to his life. I found David Suchet a charming host and enjoyed his enthusiasm . The only criticism I have is that the documentary is obviously filmed from the Roman Catholic viewpoint and doctrine. I was impressed, though, that Suchet mentioned many times that not all Christians believed some of the information that was given from the Cathic faith and that it was debated by some. On the whole. I found most of the journey and information Biblical and interesting. I'd recommend this documentary to all Christians and to those who want to learn about Christianity.

Well done, secular, upbeat

Terrific, fascinating walk thru history with charming commentary by Suchet. Perspective is archaeological, historical, and not remotely theological. The few bits that attempt theology almost laughingly fall flat. The non-religious view is respectful of Christianity in a sort of generic way. Also adding to enjoyment of film are many "experts" giving background and interesting info of landmarks in Israel.

A sense of First Century living.

Accurate as far as archaeology is concern. Also, a good presentation of the Biblical stories in real settings. I find little to criticize in this fine video and much to praise. Well done!

Very well done study of St. Peter as told in the Gospel filmed on location

Very well done study of St. Peter presented in an intriguing and educational manner, rooted in the Gospel. David Suchet is a wonderful narrator and reminds me of my childhood when my father tried to explained to me about St. Peter when I was a toddler, constantly asking "why did Peter do that?" I especially like how the archeological digs and artifacts put the words of the Gospel into clearer context for us.

Entertaining and well written

David Suchet is very interesting as a researcher/narrator. I enjoyed the questions and exploration of possibilities in Peter's story as we progressed from his calling by Jesus to his death. Well written, well presented. I wonder if the drawings that we get tantalizing views of in the journal David carries are his own?
