To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
My daughter found this book at our library a couple of months ago and loved it. When she said she wanted to take it out again I decided to just buy it for her. It has a lot of info about people, animals, earth...things I didn't even know (like that wombats produce cube shaped poop!). The drawings are cute and funny as well. Each page is presented like a little comic strip.
I bought two copies of this book - one for home and one for my classroom. My 8-year old son loves it (and I find it interesting to browse through too). The information contained in each cartoon-style spread is actually quite complex in some places and rather simplistic in others. The book is split into three sections (humans, animals, the world) and contains lots of easy to read cartoon-style information spreads. The idea of being 'A Day in the Life of...' gives it a structure but is only a guide. I am expecting the children in my class (7-9 year olds) will also really love this book and it might even inspire us to produce some additional pages of our own on topics that are not included.
Ohhh what is not to like about this book. My son loves it!!! I find him going through it himself and then wants us to read it together. I would definitely buy this book again!! It has so many facts. Even adults love it!!
My daughter isn’t really a book reader and I thought she would read a few pages of this here and there. However, she’s read it cover to cover and taken it to school to stare at break time. Can’t be bad!
