Dead Sound

Based on a true story, what started as a celebratory outing went terribly wrong. A group of college friends who miss the last boat to an island party are held hostage by the deranged fishing boat crew they hire to take them across Long Island Sound. What follows is a gripping and bloody game of cat and mouse, where everyone does what they need to do to survive.

I wanted the main characters killed 20 minutes in so the horror of viewing it would be over

This movie dragged on and on and on. We’re in quarantine and this may have been the most boring part of it. After terrible (both bad acting and the characters themselves being bad) characters, the plot was shit with more holes in it then a creature feature. I thought this movie plot had potential but failed to do anything with that.
The only two even passible actors in this horrid film was the main villain and his girlfriend. And my husband pointed out that I just thought the villain was hot. So really only the girlfriend was an okay actor and she had like 4 lines so not much she could have screwed up.
I’ll stick to my b list creature features from now on. At least the bad plots and bad acting are expected there and they are not absolutely boring.

They missed the boat
Verified purchase
Four teens miss the ferry for block island and charter a local out of New London. Things get out of hand on the boat.

The film makes New Londoners appear to hate outsiders. That was not my impression when I was there, although they do look down on folks who are not from that area, typical New England snobbery. Now the town does fight as half the town roots for Yankees and the other half Red Sox. Bars are divided accordingly. We did get background on two characters and that was about it as most of the characters were shallow.

Guide: F-word. Near sex. No nudity.

Ignore tha bad reviews

Glad I didnt listen to the bad reviews. This was definitely entertaining although it had a few issues. A bit of bad acting at the beginning nearly sunk it but despite the reviews and that early scene I stuck with it and was surprised how much better it got. There is also a logic flaw in the script when that capt is conveying the story of his house on Rock Island being taken from the bank. It was supposedly taken in 1920 and he says he heard the ppl repossessing it talking which sure didn't happen as he would have had to have been a very old man at a minimum.
Despite the warts ignore the other reviews if you like a thriller/suspense as it delivers.. Would rate it about a 3.7/5 but obv cant do that

This movie was hard to watch. It dragged on and the action scenes were far fetched and unrealistic. At times it was aggravating to watch the characters stupidity

Very exciting

I love movies based on true events. I found this one to be very exciting during the last half hour. I was yelling out loud. Its a violent movie, but not bloody or gory. I thought the acting was as good as any, and the characters were realistic. Check it out.

If you like sadism this is for you

Terrific acting! Must be because I hatred those SOBs. Would love to have spelled it out but Amazon would have refused it. As I said above, if you like sadism and torture, this is for you. I really hated it but couldn't turn it off because I absolutely had to see the end. Watch it and see how you feel afterwards.

Poor editing, great potential

This movie can be compressed into 45 minutes and won't lose anything important. I understand it's a fantasy based on true events but please make it believable. One guy being attacked and two able bodies just watch? That was your chance to escape. Maybe the script is the problem. It's just too long.
