R.J. Patterson is an award-winning writer and thriller author living in the Pacific Northwest. While growing up in a military family, he spent some of his formative years living with his family on the estate of an English baron and baroness. It was there that he developed his passion for good literature and an appreciation for football.

Upon returning to the United States, R.J. entered the field of journalism where he won numerous writing awards and has written articles for many prestigious U.S. newspapers, including The New York Times. He later left journalism full-time to pursue writing books and now resides in the Pacific Northwest with his wife and four children. He plans to write many more thrilling novels unless the CIA presses him into service to save the world.

The Deadly Alchemist by R.J.Patterson, the 7th in the series is as thrilling and suspenseful as the previous books in the series. Brady Hawk and Alex continue their fight against the mysterious Alliance in a plot that has twists and turns that’s weave suspense into every page. It was impossible to put this down once started. Thoroughly enjoyable read and can’t wait for more. Already pre-ordered number 8 for April.

The Alchemist was a good story of things going array in the scientific community with feelings of infallibility and
misplaced loyalties and twisted minds. I really enjoyed the story and I think you will too if you like a thriller.

Hawk & Alex are back in an action-packed episode!!

R.J. Patterson’s latest offering in The Phoenix Chronicles – The Deadly Alchemist is without a doubt the best in the series. Not only is it action packed like its predecessors, but there are also instances where the level of suspense around some of the characters’ well-being is at its peak. As I was reading this book, I kept getting a vision of Mr. Patterson, being a professional juggler – he must be, to keep the multiple storylines all moving in air at the same time and never dropping any of them. Once again, the Alliance raises its head in this story in multiple ways further compounding roadblocks for the Phoenix team which may or may not be resolved in this story. Having read the previous six installments I this series, I believe The Deadly Alchemist is the best of the series, however, I am looking forward to seeing the next installment in the series. I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from the author and chose to provide this review.
