Annie didn't wait to pull the punches. This book is a hundred miles an hour from page one. The action, excitement and freaking swoon worthy romance. My heart is pounding( probably from jumping up and down and yelling at the top of my lungs).
In this second installment we find Sloane neck deep in trouble with more questions than answers. She has finally found a home, love and a family. Can she keep them all safe? Can she trust herself and her power? More importantly can she or will she trust her new family?
I am in love with her. Her loyalty her strength her absolute will to survive. One foot in front of the other just keep going

I walked away from this book and started reading another series because I didn’t like where I thought it was heading. I came back to it because of another series…tied to this one. Let’s just say I was wrong about where it was going and the ending was perfect. It’s best to read these two series in tandem. So one doesn’t ruin the surprise of the other. Both are really really good.

How can I leave a review for this book? I can't even put into words the emotional rollercoaster this book just put me through! Kick ass heroine has to relive the most painful memory she has while working through who was trying to kill her as she comes to terms with who she really is. An action, adventure, most wonderful cringe worthy love scene with a super hot mage, magic, betrayal, revenge, blood, and true friends story that will leave you breathless with a tear stained face book that I highly recommend!

All hell breaks loose, and it's awesome. This part of the story is like being on a really fast train you know is going to crash, but you really don't want to jump off. I read her other series that's in the same world, so I knew what was coming ultimately. I'm glad to maybe get some details that weren't relevant to add in the other series.

I read many indie authors and her books are the cleanest, with the fewest typos of all of them. Her books are all well written, this is certainly no exception, and she deftly weaves characters from different series into another. I absolutely recommend every single word she has written.

This book picks up right where the first book left off. The plot is fast paced and full of action. There is some character development with Sloane and her friends at Night Watch, and some questions about Sloane’s past are answered. Our heroine’s level of snark continues to know no bounds even though, at times, it was needlessly over the top. Sloane’s character seems to waver between badass mercenary and petulant toddler having a temper tantrum. She is not the easiest person to like. This book ends on a cliffhanger and it will be interesting to see what happens next.

And it’s written so that you feel all of it - the bonds of friendship & belonging strengthening, the need to fight to keep what’s important & the fear of loss as well as budding romance. Another excellent book.
