A curvy librarian looking to start a family, a clan of gargoyles, and the deception that starts it all.
My family has always found me lacking. From the way I dress, how I look, to the type of magic I have. My family name is full of pomp and prestige, and I want nothing to do with it.
I’m a witch that knows how to set a goal and I have one in mind.
I want a real family.
Dating is a travesty. All the suitors I meet are looking for a connection to the family name I left behind. I need help.
Enter the matchmaker. It seems too good to be true that I can give her the list of traits I want in a partner and have my deepest desire answered, but I’m out of options.
Love comes along in the most unexpected ways.
From the very first moment I meet Elliot Bramblewick, I have hope. But he’s tricky.
I’m not expecting him to be hiding two other mates. Mates who are as alarmed and intrigued by my presence as I am by theirs.
He thinks I’m a perfect fit for them, but can I open my heart and discard my list long enough to see if this is the family I’m looking for?
None of my lists and plans prepared me for being courted by three gargoyles.
Deceived by the Gargoyles is a standalone monster romance in the same world as Stalked by the Kraken with multiple love interests who are in relationships with each other. There will be no choosing among the love interests.

Grace is a lucky woman and I had so much fun reading about her being courted by three loving gargoyles! The story is great, the spice is also really well done. Be aware: there is M/M action and to say that swords ⚔️ is an understatement. 🔥
The sex was hot although I think Alasdair only had one sex scene with Grace and the other two had several. That didn't seem fair. Danger came in the form of a male witch that Grace dated for a little while. He turned out to be something you didn't want to be with as he was crazy.
One thing I thought was a little strange was that when a gargoyle died, he turned to stone. The former alpha, Lachlan, turned to stone and his statue was at Bramblewick Manor in a turret that everyone at the manor could go visit. I don't know, that just felt strange to me. I thought the story was a little long and there were several grammatical errors.
Outside of that, I’m giving the witch props for recognizing a good thing, even if it took a lie to get her there.
Before I go any further, I have a question. Are all romanticized gargoyles, like the ones we saw from the Disney show Gargoyles? Because other than their colorings, that is what I had in my head and what got cemented there when one of them “fluffed a pillow with his talons” while he was hold the witch in his arms, or one of them “clasped his wings together over his shoulders.”
The story is pretty darn good. I got to see more of that world like I mentioned in my last review for the Lake Monster book I believe.
When they got to the payment for the match maker, that made me want to read her story now. I’m so reading the stories out of order. But I’m good.
Now this story has a good ending after a small fright that I was willing to believe would stick, but if you want more than that, follow the link to get a bonus extended ending. Which is what I did.
I completely recommend this story for your SiFi, fantasy?, Romance collection. The only reason this didn’t get full stars from me, other than very few get full stars from me, is the multiple mates. I will not turn down a good orgy, but constantly having to work with and over more than two other people is too much for me. I’m not meant for those kinds of relationships. But if you are, you may like this book more than I did.
The next thing is just me being a little unfair. The extended ending had a few gaps for me. Most, if not all, won’t be seen by the majority who read it. Except the one with her friend at the party. I read that over a number of times and I don’t know what she really meant.
Which leads me to looking for her friend’s book too.
So this book is great. Drama, suspense, love, new friends and a very happy ending.
I went back and forth on how I felt about this book for a while. The cheating type vibe in the beginning was really hard for me to get on board with. However I ended up enjoying this story overall. This story follows Elliot, Broderick, Alisdair, and Grace. Elliot and the other two Gargoyles have been mates for years. After something happens in their clan Elliot starts thinking that maybe adding someone else would help ease the tension everyone is feeling. This is not an instalove perfect relationship from the beginning type of book. There is things they each need to work on apart and together, as well as some other issues that pop up as well.
This is available on KU, and in print. I plan to add the entire series to my bookshelf soon.

is access for the book to buy but since I don't have enough time i was unable to read but today after reading it the waiting is worth for me ... I just love it

I went in knowing quite little (a monster RH was all I needed to know). And right from the start, I get slapped in the face with a character - Grace - who is so much like me in the way she sets her expectations that I feel attacked. She has lists for everything, including what she's looking for in a partner, except I cross things out every now and then because my standards are apparently too high.
Elliot is an absolute delight. A himbo with a heart of gold. Golden retriever energy, specifically the ones that look the proudest while biting their own tails. Scheming his way into dum-dum territory. I love him and I want to kiss his empty head and watch the small wheels in his head turn as he tries to outsmart his clan.
Boderick is the artistic cocky one. Not exactly the jock, but not really the bad boy either. I think I like him most, though he gets lost between the two other gargoyles and it's a shame. He is definitely the most centred of them and is such great support for everyone there, even if he doesn't get all the recognition he deserves.
Alasdair goes through the biggest transformation, it seems. He starts off appearing rude and distant, but as he comes to terms with his own shortcomings and starts dealing with his issues he really comes into his true clan leader self.
An absolute delight to read, even if it gave me the feels a few times, and scared me once, towards the end.

We meet Grace, a witch who has no luck dating, before turning to our favourite matchmaker for some help!
Enter Elliot, a charming, charismatic, cheeky man who Grace can’t help but like!
Things aren’t quite what they seem though.. because Elliot is hiding a few things…like the fact he’s a gargoyle… and the fact that he has two other mates!
This book was everything I wanted it to be and more! The Bramblewicks were such an endearing clan, each gargoyle was a totally different character and personality. Each had their own unique traits which you couldn’t help but love.
Seeing the different ways they interacted with Grace, in order to court her was so enjoyable to read.
The steam in this book was high! We saw both MF and MM scenes, and MMMF scenes to boot too. There is also knitting. Oh and the things they did with their tails?! 🔥🔥
This book had passion, intrigue, emotion, heart. One of my favourite reads of the year so far. I really love the world building and characters we meet in these books, and I’m already impatient for the next book.

Nice, sweet and all those soft feelings you would not expect from a monster romance book but I guess that’s the romance part right?
Very easy to relate to - again, shocking I know. At this point I guess im down for whatever🤷🏾♀️
I shall continue to ride this wave.
Defo recommend ✅👏🏾
