From the Back Cover
For three years, Kate Marshall has been mourning the loss of her husband and four-year-old son in a boating accident. But when she spots a familiar-looking child on a mall escalator, she's convinced it's her son. With police skeptical of her story, she turns to private investigator Connor Sullivan for help. As the former Secret Service agent digs into the case, the boating "accident" begins to look increasingly suspicious. But if Kate's son is alive, someone is intent on keeping him hidden--and may go to lethal lengths to protect a sinister secret.
As Irene Hannon's many fans have come to expect, Deceived is filled with complex characters, unexpected twists, and a riveting plotline that accelerates to an explosive finish.

Cal, Dev, Connor and Nikki who make up the Phoenix Agency are great characters. They are in all 3 stories.
Connor and Kate are the main characters in Deceived. They are realistic and likeable. Both have gone through sorrows in the their pasts, and have worked hard with God's help to move on. They compliment each other well.
Knowing who the "villian" is from almost the beginning of the book does not detract from the tension and suspense. Deceived is a major pager- turner.
As the story unfolds, readers witness "the villian" losing his grip on reality as the carefully planned world he has created starts to unravel. He is helpless to keep it together.
I thoroughly enjoyed all the books in the series as I have enjoyed all the Irene Hannon books I have read. She is a master writer.
AN AMAZING END TO AN AMAZING SERIES.
Sorry it is over.
Kate Marshall lost her husband and son while the two of them were on a fishing trip but even after three years Kate still questions some of the things involved with her husband's death and the disappearance of her 4 year old son. Just by chance one day she sees a boy on an escalator at a shopping mall and certain things make her question if this could be her missing son..
In steps Connor Sullivan who takes Kate's case and the edge of your seat nail biting begins.
I high recommend this book. You can never go wrong with a book by Irene Hannon.
