'Mine' by Matthew Brockmeyer
Donna Maria:
Where do I begin with this absolutely riveting short.
I was plunged head first into a very dark atmosphere, no let up throughout the whole story.
The three main characters are so accomplished, as is the world created.
The sheer horror I felt about Max is unnerving, how a child can instil such fear, make you dread him as you would a fully fledged killer, may be shocking but it is very real.
Mine is a study in fear, and for this one - your worst nightmare realised - the birth of a seriously dangerous psychopath.
