Thwonking Billy is awesome.
Now to wait (not so) patiently for the next book.
The Hunt was an interesting zone, and there were thought provoking twists to the plot while Zac was in there, but I am glad the whole book was not about it. I am also glad they knocked out some of the invasions, and even more plot twists were added at the end.
I like the MC and the scope but almost stopped reading multiple times from the apparent slapdash story construction. Three books now. At what point does the writing get better?
Only gripe I have is the authors improper use of pronouns for the insect race, using they or them instead of he or her. To make matters worse the author isn't consistent in doing it! So at the start of the book the queen ant is referred to as the/them/they (super confusing) but at the end of the book the desolaters (also insect race) are referred to as "her" and her "brother". This contradicts how they have referred to the ant people everywhere else, and I have no idea why.
The story itself though is pretty good and the audio book was worth getting.

Why so good? Simple, great story, progression, characters and world building, it hits all the right spots, I would highly recommend this to any fans of the genre or anyone wanting to enjoy a great series full stop. Already got my eye on book 4 dropping on 24th February.
Great novel and I can’t wait for the next.
