I totally enjoyed this horrific demon fiction especially the characters of Blake, Gregor and Lilith. Blake Rossi is an ex-communicated priest and was the chief exorcist of the Vatican when a child in Texas dies during exorcism. He struggle with drinking and as a normal person in the working world but is tormented by a demon and accidents occur. He gets together with his best friend Gregor Balfor they start their own exorcism business, so go good but there is where all hell breaks out and Furcas and Lilith comes into play. Cannot wait until for Sins of the Father.

Reminding me (a little) of a TV series I recently watched (what can I say I Love Horror), I stopped only after I turning the last (virtual) page. Once finished I immediately added it to my Favorites Collection (on my Kindle) so I could read it again (down the road of course). With a well developed storyline, fleshed out characters, and no noticeable typos or errors in sentence structure, you can't help wanting more. Thankfully there's another book in this series to look forward to. Highly Recommended.

What's not to like? This was scary in all the best ways. I couldn't put it down because I had to know what was going to happen. Demons of hell with personal knowledge of your life that even you don't know and they enjoy knowing it. I cannot wait for the next installment.

Blake Rossi was once a well respected priest and exorcist, but when an exorcism goes wrong, he is thrown out of the priesthood and left with nothing. He is plagued with nightmares and visions of the child he failed to save and has turned to the bottle. But when an old friend arrives unannounced with a proposition for Blake, he can't let it pass.

This took me a while to become fully invested in. The plot doesn't really get going till nearly half way through the book, but once it does, it becomes hard to put down. I remember when I was younger and watched The Exorcist, it terrified me and I had nightmares for months after!!! I'm wary of reading books like it now because the thought still terrifies me. While this was chilling, it didn't come close to truly scaring me. Saying that though, I still listened to this within a day because I needed to see what would happen to Blake.

The best thing about the book for me were the characters. Blake was an easy one to like and I was rooting for him throughout. I didn't like Gregor as much but Lilith was awesome. Each of them was well written and developed.

In all, this was a really good read. There was a lot to like about it and I'm looking forward to more from Blake and the world the author has created.

Jake Urry is one of my favourite narrators. He has such a distinctive voice and always performs what he reads. I loved his creepy tone for the Demon!!

Looks like a great new series

For years, Blake Rossi was the chief exorcist for the Catholic Church. Then a 6 year old died during an exorcism, and he found himself excommunicated and out in the cold. He drowns his misery and guilt in alcohol, drifting from one meaningless job to the next, unable to pay the rent and demon haunted. So when old friend Gregor Balfor comes calling to try and convince Rossi he needs to take up his old profession again, he’s against it. But events wear him down- an old woman needs help because her father captured a demon many years before and now the demon is on the loose- and he finds himself joining Balfor and Balfor’s allies fighting a high level demon- a demon knight.

I liked the characters, and hope White develops them more as the series goes on- yes, it’s the first of a series. I want to know about Balfor’s group, and especially more about Lilith. The story was slow to get started, but I suspect (and hope) that, without having to create backstory, the 2nd will take right off. Four stars.

So - this is the first book I've read by this author. I thought she did a great job at character development - getting you involved in the story - and keeping your heart rate elevated. I think you will find it a fun read. Be prepared though - there are some creepy demons in this book.
