My 8 year old purchased this with her Christmas money. She found it extremely boring and this is coming from a kid who loves horses and barely gets to watch tv/movies. She said it didn't show enough horses. From a parents perspective be mindful that there is Eastern religion influence and females wearing clothing choices that I do not want my daughter to emulate.

Not your usual cheesy horse flick.

Not the usual cheesy horse flick. Us horse people are SO picky about horse movies. This one isn't cheesy or stupid. In fact it's deeper than I expected. And not totally unrealistic.

Barely ok

A predictable movie with only fair dialogue and fair actors. The actors are only fair at horseback riding and they never get much faster than a fast trot in the cross-country “racing”. This movie is for young girls that love horses and have not risen much.

Couldn’t find this through Netflix or prime so I decided to risk buying without ever seeing it. I liked it! Better than most horse movies, a bit more realistic, kinda predictable, but I enjoyed it. Cast was good.

not a horse movie

This movie is part of the typical bait and switch routine.. get you to click on it because it looks like a fun kids horse movie and then boom.. new age eastern mumbo jumbo...people with kids need to be aware...we do love horses!! and traditional family values that a lot of horse movies portray..sadly this is not one.

Ok story - better suited for teens who don't ride

Story line is ok, slow moving and dull at times, mediocre acting. For a true horse person, the bad riding, banging on horse's backs, hands jerking on bits, horses in pain - made a real rider cringe. It must be possible to find actors who can actually ride for pete's sake.

Destined to Ride - You will enjoy it!

Destined to Ride is a wonderful family friendly film. The cinematography and direction are great. I really enjoyed the film and the scenes with the horses. I recently watched Rob Reiner's film Flipped, and with Destined to Ride, it reminds me of how a good story can really make a movie. And Madeline Carroll gives a lovely performance. If you are looking to add a film to your collection that your whole family will find entertaining, this is it!

This movie was incredible. Already have watched it 3 times. Good fun for the whole family and actually it will bring families together for a night that they can spend watching a movie that shows how entertainment is at it best. Heartwarming it is, with an excitement of what will happen next. We truly loved it & would recommend it to all parents, children & grandchildren. Kudos to all involved!
