i have beenf on a great movie roll including this one

Law student and all-around good guy Harper (Tye Sheridan) suspects his stepdad Vincent (Stephen Moyer) of causing the car crash that landed his mother in a coma. This is essentially a 3 person movie....my favorite is Tye Sheridan as the young man who gets drunk and gets involved with a tough fellow and they pot to rough up Harpers Stepdad. He is going to even pay Emory Cohen 20 thousand to do it. Emory is this tough buy part to be sure. and the inevitable girl Is Bel Powley and let me say that all 3 of these young actors are excellent....there are twists and turns so you have to pay attention and I guarantee an enjoyable ride. Oh yeah, love the car!

A refreshingly stylish neo noir thriller

It's so strange how so many great films get lost and slip under the radar and Detour is one of them. A very stylish, intense, thrilling, well made and solidly acted neo noir that pays tribute to a lot of classic film noirs as well as neo noirs that doesn't let up for a second. The cast is very good with Emory Cohen stealing the show in a great villainous performance. Detour features a lot of twists done in unique ways and what appears to be two separate narratives that has everything come together in the end. This is one of those films that is a completely different experience with a second viewing. The cinematography is gorgeous especially when our characters end up in Vegas. I was glued the entire time. I really hope more people discover this slick neo noir thriller. This blu ray transfer is stunning.

An okay movie, but not worth paying for...

So I was thinking about this Detour movie having seen Ready Player One and the lead actor Tye Sheridan seemed really good. The acting in this movie is subpar and almost has a high school production quality. I saw this once and won't see it again, boring and uneventful.

Good Film

"Detour" is refreshing because there story splits into two storage alternate universes, one being Harper doing the things he said he would, the other not doing it. Even though the two parallel stories have the same characters, they don't get mixed up. And the two stories are both engaging and interesting. I especially like Cherry's character, and Harper's calmness in the do it storyline. I think "Detour" is a good indie film and deserves a watch.

You have to be watching this movie to realize it is a film to be desired. What will happen in two screenplays in one. Be good or Evil.
