This would have worked better as a story about Big Auto and their peculiarities, as the central "gimme" of the plot is a system that will make an electric car that /looks/ like a "muscle car" /sound/ like a "muscle car". Great satire unless, of course, that's actually been done.
But the story isn't really about that. No, it's about two friends, one (A) married, one (B) toying with the idea.
B spots A's wife having an affair and dithers about telling him. And dithers some more.
While dithering, he manages to convince his sister that he is telling her that her husband is stepping out. Which turns out to be the case.
He also confronts A's wife, who is not pleased with this interference in her marriage.
And the other man, an incident which leads to an intervention for gambling.
And so it goes.
But what does the audience care? In my case, not one bit.
