I love the Dirty Deeds series, it is masterfully written by Armand Rosamilia.
In book 5 we find that Marisa Paige has returned to find James Gaffney isn't home. ( She was his protégé but went on a sabbatical in San Diego to get her head straight after being taken during an investigation by the man that has ruined James life and took away his sports memorabilia business, his houses, and money.) She hasn't been in town (St Augustine) long and has already stumbled onto a mystery and a possible love interest, a ballplayer new to the Jacksonville baseball team named TJ Stone.
Marisa is a hacker extrodeneer and is more comfortable being behind the scene instead of being the front gal in an investigation. She has learned a lot from James but not as much as she may need on this case. With James in Baton Rouge and unavailable, she takes the lead of this mystery alone and becomes a person of interest after two murders. Enter a new Detective Beauchamp.
This was another great installment in the series where Marisa is the lead investigator. No worries James will be back soon and the Duo will work together. There were new interesting characters to get to know some may surprise you. I have to say I must be slipping because I didn't see what the Author had in store for this one. BRAVO Mr. Rosamilia what a great series you have here with Dirty Deeds and great surprises for the readers. I am starting on book 6 now.
