I generally love Nora Roberts and her alter ego J. D. Robb...this on the other hand I’m not sure how to describe and I really didn’t much like the book. It was hard to like the Female lead, she was a bit too much of a whiner and the male lead was good and probably better developed but it was really hard to buy into him as a hero until the very end. This story is Dark, dreary, full of both adult and adolescent angst and the writing drug many times. It was wildly leading several goose chases, that sort of came together but was so disjointed it was unsatisfactory. To be honest I usually love the paranormal books she writes but this isn’t a paranormal book. This is murder, mayhem, and pure evil. It wasn’t my cup of tea and it took me days to finish when I normally finish a book in at most two days. Don’t mistake this for paranormal as there isn’t an ounce of paranormal in the book.
