Do It Afraid: Embracing Courage in the Face of Fear Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
Recognize, confront, and conquer the fears holding you back from living boldly and freely with renowned Bible teacher and New York Times bestselling author, Joyce Meyer.
Fear is the devil's favorite tool in the toolbox of schemes he uses to destroy God's good plan for you. He uses it to hold you back and prevent progress in your relationships, career, and more.
In Do It Afraid, Joyce Meyer explains that fear is everywhere and affects everyone. It rules many people, but it doesn't have to rule you any longer. She will teach you how to:
- Understand fear and recognize how it works in your life.
- Confront those fears that are holding you back.
- Change your mindset for lasting freedom from some of the most common fears people face.
Remember, courage isn't the absence of fear; it is learning how to move forward in the presence of fear. Courageous people do what they believe in their hearts they should do, no matter how they feel or what doubts fill their minds. When you take ownership of your problems and open your heart to God, He will help bring light into darkness so that you can be free.

At the start of the book, Meyer reminds readers that fear has been around a very long time and it affects everyone. However, she urges readers not to let fear "push them around." Instead she starts out the book in the first section by helping readers understand fear. She then goes on to help them confront fear and to have the courage they need to do that. The third part of the book offers advice on the mindsets to have to walk in freedom from fear.
Like all of Joyce Meyer's books, Do It Afraid is clear and easy to understand and relate to. She writes in such a way so the reader is reminded of the Scriptures that relate to each topic while including stories from her own life that relate well. Meyer doesn't hold back she just shares from her heart matter-of-factly. I like that she is easy to relate to and understand. One other feature of this book is that she also shares stories at the end of each chapter from other real life people. This helps the reader feel like they are not alone in their struggles. Do It Afraid would be a good addition to any home library. I have to add that this book has one of the most gorgeous covers that I have seen on a Meyer book. Under the vellum dust jacket is a gorgeous lion picture.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions within this review are my own. #sponsoredbyfaithwords
