Praise for Don't Scream
"This book is fantastic. It has a terrifying blend of realistic and supernatural horror."
"Don't Scream is a book you don't want to read in the dark."
"This book was amazing! I demolished it so quickly! I love how they subtly connected to each other and had great plot twists. I’m super picky of my horror/scary stories but this is my favorite author!"
"Some, like the beard story, made me chuckle, while others like "My Son is Dead" left me with a pit in my stomach. In some stories, the imagery was so vivid that I actually felt claustrophobic."
"5/5 stars, must read for every horror fan."

I haven't read anything by this author before that I remember but I will definitely keep her name in mind in the future.
I enjoyed all sixty tales in this book. Some were scarier than others but all were written well.
They are all written in the first person POV, some present and some past tense, and that's not usually a favorite of mine but these stories worked. Some were written like they were actually happening to the author. They worked too.
If you're looking for some stories that will have you jumping at shadows, based on everyday things, give this a try.
While the stories themselves were passably entertaining but not riveting for me, I give full credit to the author for a very fertile imagination. I'm going to look to see if she has anything she's carried further than these sketches because of that. I'd love to see what she does to develop out one of her creepy concepts fully!
The stories kind of tie into each other as you will see
They are well written and definitely worth checking out
Absolutely love the book and have read another in their collection that was just as good
If I have any criticism, it's that there's a certain sameness to the writing. I'm pretty sure every story is in first person. A lot of them don't have much of a set up, or introduction, and some of them have quick, almost vague endings. In a sense it's like eating chocolate. You take a few bites, eat a few pieces, and it's great stuff. You keep eating it and you like it. But after a while, you realize why you don't eat an all-chocolate diet.
Never the less, I've read a lot of horror, and a lot of short fiction, and the author is to commended. There are a lot of great and spooky set-ups in the stories here, and as I noted, each is easy and fun to read. Just don't make it your only go-to for the genre and you'll be happy (or better, even more scared!).
