I've seen some bad horror films before. I generally don't watch anything that gets less than a 5.0 (out of 10) rating on IMDb, but if the movie stars an actor I like (like Drew Barrymore), I will take a chance on it. In this case, the 4.4 rating was WAY too generous. I've read a lot about doppelgangers. This movie doesn't have anything to do with any of the legends about them. Do yourself a favor and skip it or, if you want to see Drew, watch all but the last 15 minutes. Trust me, you'll thank me for not putting you through that last segment. It is one of the worst I've ever seen on film, and that's saying a lot.

A widescreen release at last

The original, and now out of print, DVD from Artisan Home Entertainment featured a 4:3 "full screen" transfer. I was curious about the aspect ratio of this version from S'More Entertainment. I couldn't find any information about it anywhere so I took a chance ordered a copy. I can confirm that it is in fact a 16:9 aspect ratio anamorphic widescreen DVD. It looks pretty good too.

first there is the drowsy ,blowsy script. then very fine actor George newbern is massacred by the director into permitting him to create a very childish character who plays a writer. drew Barrymore shows us once again she acts acting (remember how wonderful she was at the beginning?.) wonderful sally Kellerman looks like she's thinking ''what the hell am I doing here...?''.) is just mish-mashed around until sense is no longer involved. could have been good.

Don't. Just...don't.

I like Drew Barrymore. I like creepy stories about creepy shit. And I'll give any movie at least 10-20 min before taking a crap on it. And I'll even watch a crappy movie if it at least has a good story. But this... I couldn't even last 5 min. Probably less than 2. It's truly awful. It's not even worth the free trial. They should pay me just for clicking on it. Do yourself a favor. Find something else to watch. Like paint drying.

Weird & Boring

I was surprised to see a movie with Drew B. so poorly acted out and plotted. It's really weird right from the beginning but the acting is just dreadful. I couldn't get through the entire thing it was so poorly constructed.

Decemt little suspense thriller until the end

An early film with Drew Barrymore. Feels a little like a Hitchcock suspense film however the ending kills it for me. 3 stars, not great but not bad either.

Low budget movies supporting actors

The guy that stole the show was Drew Barrymore's dead father in the tunnel and ambulance, truly the scariest scene s in the movie. Wish they would of found away to increase his role. Very good low budget movie the doppelganger monster was a disaster. I loved it until the ending.

A ridiculous film!

My wife had been looking for this movie forever. It's directed by the dude who wrote the movie She, which is also a bonkers movie. Seriously, I've tried to unpack this so many times and can't. You should buy it and write me to see if you can figure it out!
