Dorman 14151 Brake Master Cylinder Bleeding Tool

Was disappointed right from the get go once I opened the package. First of all these fittings belong in a separated plastic case but they come all loose in a plastic cylinder sealed to a piece of cardboard showing what it is up front and what suppose to be in the package on the back of the card board. So I went out an purchased a small see through plastic case so I could sort them out inside it. I did that yesterday. Glad I did instead of waiting to the day I would need to use it being the count on the fittings supplied was off. You are suppose to get (2) of the 9/16-20 but I only received (1). Next you are suppose to receive (2) of 9/16-18. I received (3). These are the Maroon Colored SAE Fittings. They are all marked with the sizes on them. The other problem I am not happy about are the Blue Metric Colored Fittings. Not one of them has the size marked on them. I guess you are suppose to guess at what you are using. To separate them I had to match them up and put them in the plastic assortment box I had to purchase on my own since Dorman did not supply one. So in the mean time I had to order another kit and this one is going to go back the way it came short one size and over one other size fitting. Waiting for the replacement one to come first so I can check to see if that one is right before I do anything else. I don't know if they are hand counted out by people or a machine picks them and throws them in the pack.

Fixed lack of brake pedal pressure

We discovered a small brake fluid leak in my fiancé’s car after she lost enough fluid to introduce air into the master cylinder and cause extreme pedal pressure loss. Before fixing the leak I bled the master cylinder using this kit and it immediately resolved the pressure issue, then I fixed the leak and the car’s brakes are good as new now! This kit is inexpensive and works well.

I used this kit to bench bleed a master cylinder on my 2000 Wrangler. The kit has all of proper components but the plastic nuts don’t fit tightly into the threaded holes. I had issues with air seeping in until I used teflon tape on the threads and this seemed to help. My hands and bench were a mess when I was done. All in all, it did what it was supposed to but the quality is questionable.

Got this to bleed the master cylinder on an '11 Chrysler Town and Country. Didn't bench bleed it, because I had the cylinder run dry when a brake hose needed to be replaced. Used this kit to bleed the master cylinder while still in the car. Not terribly messy. Took a good second to find the appropriate size connector, but sure enough the kit had a pair that fit my part. It was a little awkward getting them on and off, but again I was bleeding it in-car not bench bleeding it, so I was satisfied with how it performed. The parts feel flimsy, like I'd expect from a $10 kit, but everything looks good to go if I need to use it again.

This was absolutely perfect for my use. I had read on other products that they only included one of each plastic screw to put the tube on. When bench bleeding, it's important that you have both lines disconnected and that you feed the tubes directly into the resevoir to pump out the air and cycle the fluid - You wouldn't want to do it with just one, since you'd be feeding the rest of the fluid to the rest of the system.

All in all, does what it should, and was great for bench bleeding.

The colour coding needs to be expanded, far too many fittings of similar size and pitch are the same colour making it time consuming to find the correct fitting.
