How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 stars2000 Dodge Ram brake light and ABS light on.

FIRST OF ALL I AM ONE WHO NEVER WRITES REVIEWS THE REASON I WRITE THIS IS THE SIMPLICITY AND EASE OF REPLACEMENT NOT TO MENTION THE MONEY YOU SAVE!!!!!! 2000 Dodge Ram brake light and ABS light on. Speedometer wont read unless speed is over 20 miles. Easy fix (20 min) took me longer to drop the spare tire. Once Tire is out -there is lots of room to get to the ABS sensor on the deferential. Sprayed a little WD-40 to clean the surrounding area. You need 3 tools (flat crew driver, 9/16, 1/2 wrench or socket) to remove the ABS sensor .A flat end screw driver to unhook the electrical connector (don't lift the tab to hard or you will break the locking tab and have to use electrical tape to hold together). 9/16 to remove first nut that holds accessories lines. After first nut is removed use 1/2 to remove ABS sensor screw/nut. Use the flat end screw driver and try to slide it under the ABS sensor at the same time twist and lift with the other hand should pop out w/ no problems. Once removed insert new ABS senor.(Use a little grease along the edge of sensor- I used spark plug grease to help it slide down(that's all I had)), There will be a little space(very small) between the sensor and differential. When you start to torque down the space will close(start off slow) -grease will extrude and the sensor will be flush. Follow the steps backwards to complete the job. Very easy Hope this helps and saves you a lot of money.

3.0 out of 5 starsPig tail connector plug doesn’t match vehicle
Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2019
This product is a ‘mirror’ image of the original. Thus the connector faces the wrong direction when installed. To alleviate this the manufacture has included a ‘jumper’ to connect the two. We will see how this works going forward.

5.0 out of 5 stars 2004 5.9 24v Cummins 2500 - direct replacement for rear diff ABS sensor
Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2020

2004 5.9 24v Cummins 2500 - had that ABS light on the dash when I bought the truck, and this fixed it. This part went right in without issue, but be warned your old sensor (located in the rear diff) may not come out so easy. Remove it very slowly and use minimal force, otherwise the old sensor could break off in your diff housing. For mine, the old sensor internals broke away but the plastic casing was left in the diff housing; I was able to carefully pry it out but if you aren't able to, you'd have to remove your diff plate, so be careful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to install watch the video in You Tube on how to do it.

Perfect no issues, it was easy to replace, thanks to "jimthecarguy" in you tube who made a video named "How to diagnose and replace a rear abs sensor on a Dodge", the man gives an easy and complete explanation and walkthrough on the troubleshooting and installation of this sensor.
I replaced in my 1998 Dodge Durango, it only took me 20 minutes.
You need a 13 mm, a 14mm deep sockets 3/8 drive to remove the nuts that hold in place, you may need a set of pliers and a screwdriver if the sensor becomes difficult to remove, pay attention to the complete video from "jimthecarguy", a couple of times he advised to take it easy and not to break the sensor while pulling it out.
In my case once I removed the nuts, I was able to easily turn back and forward the sensor and I pulled it out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good part for a good price.
Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2017

I used to part on my 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 with a Cummins Turbo Diesel. I chose this part compared to others because of the price and the features. All the aftermarket parts I found were a mirror image of the factory part. By this, I mean that the electrical connection is on the wrong side. This part has an extender while some others didn't. Without the extender it, would be difficult if not impossible to reconnect the new sensor. Like the factor part, this part also comes with a stamp metal shielding to protect the sensor while some other brands don't. At the time of writing this review, the sensor has been installed in my truck for 10 months and is still working great.

4.0 out of 5 stars 1998 Dodge Dually Replacement
Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2020

My ABS and Brake light were on and after some research it looked like the rear speed sensor was the cause. I bought this one and replaced the old one. The lights went out. I would give it 5 stars but its brand new and I want to give it some time in use before going overboard with the stars.

The old one came out a little hard. The end cap broke off and stayed in the oriface. I managed to push it out by going in a circle around it pushing with a dull punch. All in all it took about 15 minutes to change out.

Can't beat the price. Locally the parts stores wanted between 30 and 45 dollars.

Installed in a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup with no major issues. Pigtail extender was not needed. Fixed the issues with the ABS/Brake lights on and no reading on the speedometer, along with the Check Engine light. Back to a functioning instrument cluster.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seems like it did the job with a minor exception

My 05 1/2 2500 didn't need the use of the little bracket nor the wiring harness. I just connected this new dorman SS to the existing wiring/plug. Under my truck there was no plug for the other end of the wiring harness that this replacement part arrived with. Not did my truck have the little bracket. But..it did switch the ABS/Brake lights on the instrument cluster off. Excellent!

5.0 out of 5 stars Solved My Speedometer Issue
Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2018

The needle on my speedometer would only function and operate when it reached speeds of 30 mph or more on my Dodge Durango. After that it stopped operating or only when it wanted to. Researching it and found that the rear ABS sensor was the problem. Mine is mounted right on top of the rear differential pumpkin. Three nuts to remove and replace with a new ABS sensor. Problem solved and the speedometer is working like it should now. It was mention on research that you can pull it out and clean it off. it has a magnet on it and can get covered. I do not want to do the job twice if that was the case and replaced mine with a new ABS sensor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Sensor

If you own a late 90's early 2000's Dodge Ram Durango Dakota and have experienced ABS brake light come on and sometimes speedometer doesn't work until 20mph this is probably the culprit. Located on top of the rear differential it's not too difficult to replace.
