What can you expect?
The main character, Raphael, becomes more powerful by cultivating through the Dragon Meridian. This is unlike the mages of the world who use spell dust refined from monster cores in order to power their spell vectors. There are many Draconic Braziers (internal progression nodes) which Raphael must light throughout the series, each of which enable him to become stronger, learn spells, and acquire special weapons and equipment.

I must admit I really enjoyed reading this book. If there are any annoyances I didn’t notice because from start to finish it was entertaining and fun to read, in one sitting. There is good character building and different outcomes from the expected, there is snark, unexpected ‘normal' characters, tension buildups and laughs. All the characters had to work to attain the levels of competence and growth in their abilities, it was not handed on a plate by some magical amulet or other device. There were unexpected, but very plausible, twists in the plot. That ending. Brilliant and completely unexpected. Thanks. Not being greedy or any thing when can I read the next one?
