I am enjoying the Akiri series, each book is almost a stand alone. The stories flow at a good pace, but there is not much depth to the characters. The magic system could use some explanation and expansion. There were a few bits in this novel which were confusing. previously Akiri is super strong due to his magic enhanced physical abilities, his sword is gliding through people like a hot knife through butter and then all of a sudden he is unable to take the head off a few zombies? overall these are fast paced, fun read without getting too bogged down in details and character develppment
