Read what others have to say:
"In a storytelling style reminiscent of Ray Bradbury, Dean R. Giles weaves one engaging tale after another. Magic, dragons, virus-carrying insects, heroes & heroine, all come to life with words that paint in vivid images. It is said science fiction is a depiction of the real; Fantasy is a depiction of the unreal. Here in DRAGONS RESTORED we have both worlds coming together."
"A great collection of stories each with their own twist which I did enjoy. Fantastic creativity.
I loved Dragons Restored and would have loved this to be a full-length novel.
Original ideas which are thoughtful and intriguing and not at all what I expected. A great read not only for YA but anyone who enjoys a great story. "
"I enjoyed these short stories, especially the imaginative plots, powers, and worlds painted by the author. I wanted very much for the adventures to go on!"

About the author

Dean R. Giles
Born in Othello Washington, moved to Utah to attend Brigham Young University. Found my wife in Utah, and have been there ever since. We have a wonderful family. Reading was important to us, and I cherish the hours that I read with my children. We would bring home 25 to 40 books every three week from the library, and I would be amazed at how many we would get through. We thought that it would be fun to create a children's book.
We started our children's eBook series as a family project. We have two children leaving to serve missions, so we will be a bit shorthanded for the next books. We are very proud and excited about our first book The Snow Birthday (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BWAP6SS), and are currently working on the second.

The stories in Dragons Restored and Other Stories were all highly imaginative. Almost every one surprised me at some point in the story, either with the revelation of a character’s identity or an unexpected turn of the plot. Each story was preceded by a fitting and nicely done illustration. It’s a fun book to read, and one that would be enjoyed by most young adults who like to read fantasy or science fiction.
I unfortunately did not enjoy the longer pieces as much. The Rune Master’s Apprentice, though dropping you straight into action, has a confusing plot and is lacking in a little backstory to help the reader understand certain motivations. This story just did not click for me. Dragons Restored, however, is a promising tale that I could actually see fleshed out into a full-length novel, even a series. With a little work on the mechanics and presentation, this would be a top-notch story.

Open your mind to possibilities beyond imagination. Grab a comfortable chair, because you'll be there a while. Once you start reading, it's hard to put down.
I think readers who like these types of stories should check this out.

My favourites were 'The Rune Master's Apprentice' in seven brief chapters, with a message that empathy - with its brother feelings of strength, courage and bravery - can help good conquer evil; and 'Imprinted', based on an intriguing idea, strikingly well written by the author's son, Nathan.
Dean Giles has thoughtfully added a bonus at the end of the book too, with a link to an 'Adult Stress Relief Colouring Book' of Mandalas, which downloaded well, and includes a selection from his Relaxing, Twisted, & Funny Kids Mandalas books.
