About the author

Standing over six feet tall, Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair of a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.
He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, the TOWER OF ENDLESS WORLDS urban fantasy series, THE GHOSTS series about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE sequence of computer books, and numerous other works.

Then we have the ancient runes under some of the greate cities that are very old and ancient the deeper one may find themselves in !
In many ways reminded me of exsploring dungens. .
Undead toumbs, magical beasts, and traps of many kinds ! Mysteries to unravel and much Sword play and Sorcery to overcome.
But in the beginning - these young men were so wanting to growing up, hoping to become great Knights ! But had to overcome their own differences first ! They had to learn to war as one against their enemies rather than each other !
This is a story of the school of hard knocks that a actually woke them up and learn to survive and navigate many dangers that stalked their lives most every day in one way 9r another !
Ever book keeps taking them into greater and greater danger ! I keep wanting to find out what next foe you never know what's next ?
Going to the next book now ! He just won a special Shield after fighting a thousand years old dead warrior ! He got caught up in a trap in an
ancient city deep under ground ! Separated from their team who were trying to find their way back to the surface !

The story follows Sir Gareth, a knight who is somewhat of a rising star across his kingdom, as he joins part of an elite escort tasked with ensuring the safe arrival of a prince, the future king, to the site of his wedding. Furthermore, not only is Sir Gareth becoming increasingly trusted by the most important people in the kingdom, but he also finds himself having mysterious dreams that somehow appear to link to his future.
Although I enjoyed the writing in parts, particularly the description of the comradery between knights, I couldn’t escape the feeling throughout that both the story and characters were simply a comfortable formula. There were orcs, knights, magic and swords. Various threats arrived and were resolved comfortably. I never really felt challenged or surprised by what I was reading and, in truth, I began to get a little bored. It felt like a book that was quite simply what it was; you know what you’re going to get when you start reading it and, if you like that sort of thing, you’ll like it. I couldn’t, however, personally pick anything that made it stand out from the hundreds of other fantasy novels that this one has been inspired by.
I’d recommend this book to younger readers (given its relatively PG content) and people who enjoy reading good, honest fantasy fare. I don’t think I’ll be rushing to read the prequel though
