Every single word woven into this series is worth the read. I enjoyed the ups and downs of the journey and the unexpected twists on Hell itself. There were situations that I did not see coming which made the story even more enjoyable.

I will say that there was a point in the story that I feared the characters didn’t have time to complete the tasks at hand… well, you’ll just have to read to find out if they did or not…

Great series, well done. Looking forward to other stories by this author.

A story about redemption and resurrection.

I admit to coming to the series starting with book 4 but I think I was able to keep up with the events of good vs. evil in a mad dash attempt to prevent the coming apocalypse. This is a story about redemption and resurrection. Marion is desperate to save the love of his life, Emily. She was killed along with another character, her newly discovered brother, in book 3 (which I have not read) and now Marion has a slim chance to bring her back, which involves a road trip – if you will—to hell, where he encounters all manner of demons and other characters and makes some iffy alliances, all in a bid to save Emily. Oh, and Emily is a supernatural person with the ability to shapeshift into a big owl and a demon. This is why there’s a chance at bringing Emily back to life.
Marion teams up with a demon to battle evil magicians who were the reason Emily was murdered to begin with.
This is an interesting and unique world that the author has developed but I was left with a number of questions about it. They may have been answered in the earlier books in this series again, I did not read those. This book, book 4 in the series, is a fairly quick read and I found it enjoyable even with the gaps in the backstory that I did not know.

This one is definitely a bit different than the first 3 books, it's darker...has more violence and gore in it too. But, I do like this series, it keeps me wanting to read more. The only thing I can really criticize is this, and it is something I have noticed is an issue in the other books too...you have to read these in order; a reader cannot pick up any individual book and read it as a standalone. This is a flaw in this author's writing and it's why I don't give 5 stars and only give 4.

I got an advance copy of this book and, sad to say, didn't realize it was book four until I got it. At first, I thought about just setting it aside or reselling it, because I didn't want to just jump in midway through a series - but the description was interesting. So I read it and, wasn't disappointed. Great characters, fast plot, and lots of twists and turns keep you engaged throughout the 258 pages. Now I think I might have to go back and start proper at book one!

Marion’s struggle and determination to restore Emily to life kept me hooked and invested as this story dragged me through hell to save the world. This is a story with a great plot and great pacing and twists that kept me guessing until the end. I highly recommend for lovers of paranormal and fantasy.
