Ron Ripley is a husband and father surviving in New England, a place which seems to be getting colder every day. He grew up across from a disturbingly large cemetery where he managed to scare himself every night before going to bed. Mostly because of the red lights that people put in front of the headstones. Those things are just plain creepy to a kid.
Ron enjoys writing horror, military history and driving through the small towns of New England with his family, collecting books and giving impromptu lectures on military history to his family, who enjoy ignoring him during those dreadful times.

I felt the story drug out and had way too much filler. I have ALWAYS loved Ron Ripley's books but I feel that the combination with another author made the book boring. I found myself speed reading or plain jumping past all the filler. It's obvious that there will be a book 2 and I hope we get more of the Ron Ripley that we love.

I loved Ron Ripley and Ian Fortey’s, Duel of the Damned! The story is simply fantastic! Together Ripley and Fortey weave a tale with all the imagery one has come to expect of the often cynical, always charming, Shane Ryan of Berkley Street fame. They have built a cast of great characters and a well written story that makes for a 5-star review so full of action and suspense that I couldn't stop listening. Every free moment was spent lost in the tale of how Shane Ryan had to once again pull his fat out of the supernatural fryer so to speak, and prove his worth whether he wanted to or not.

This time finds Shane really not wanting any of it! But he finds he has little to no choice. Shane has been invited to a very special, one of a kind event, called The Iron Tournament where living fighters are pitted against bound spirits in a savage fight to the death. The winner of course gets to live on to fight another battle. And so on the tournament progresses until the last man or ghost is standing.

It was an absolutely amazing story! Certainly one of my favorites, not soon to be forgotten. And one that I would happily recommend for some good light hearted entertainment.

This was not the book I thought would be the next Shane Ryan story. The first half drew me in,
But the second part grabbed on and didn't let go until I finished. I don't want to give away any spoilers,
But I loved the ending!
Looking forward to the next one.

Just when i thought I'd read all the Shane books, up pop's another one. Where does Mr ripley get so many of his ideas about ghosts powers from . I managed to read this book over 2 night's and was kept on edge the whole time... I just don't want Shane to die, I've known him too long and although he's from Mr ripleys imagination when reading the books he feels real . Shane is tricked into joining a tournament
, humans against ghosts, a fight to the death , Shane wants to know who wanted him dead and why , he gets his answers but ..I'm not going to tell you the ending, you'll have to read it for yourself and, enjoy. Move over Stephen King your reign is over Ron Ripley is the new king
