Watched about 5 minutes of this and realized the highly rated reviews for this movie was fraudulent. This is just a plain bad movie. This is not about a border Collie.

VO ruined it

This film is a prime example of how voice over ruins a film. To filmmaker: don't you see how self-indulgent it is? Why do you think audience wants to hear your smug diatribe about life and existence? The audience is here to be entertained. Be humble. Don't serve them homemade philosophy. Write a script that SHOWS - that's what the medium is for - not smacks people with your existential drivel.
I give it 3 stars strictly because of powerful Carmine Giovinazzo's performance. I'm so sorry it was wasted on a poor script.
Before I gave up midway, multiple times I realized the VO was absolutely unnecessary. It wasn't a shortcut for exposition. It added nothing to the story. And yet you put it in there and ruined a fine film. This is an act of a selfish self-indulgent careless people.

Lots of reviews about a dog. This movie (Duke) has nothing to do with dogs. Interesting, could have been better. Occasional voice over wasn't appreciated. Like isn't all rainbows, going for the opposite tack just a little too strong though. Makes this a one time view. Would've like to have seen one or two redeeming things at the end. Even if much of a life is wasted, the rest is still worthwhile.

Good picture and sound, but was coming across as a 1970's private eye TV show. As soon as I figured out this was on purpose and started getting drawn into the story, I found it to be excellent.

Red flag flaw at the outset
Verified purchase
Admittedly, I did not watch much. Also, I have never before left a review. I love movies, and I watch a lot of them.
At the very outset of the movie a quotation is prominently displayed, and is mistakenly attributed to JFK when, in fact, it was RFK who famously offered it to the American people (and RFK largely boosted it from Voltaire- no surprise there). When simple, but important details such as references and due diligence are left unattended to, then one can typically make relatively accurate suppositions about the content. I watched for a while, then I bailed.

Love & Civil run hand in hand, if people open their eyes. Civil separates 1st from 3rd world (allowing kids to die for warlords). Sad but true. Sacrifice for a greater society. Or society surving you & your persoanal itches, wont work #PC #BLM #AnArchist

Not even good enough to be a horrible movie

Review of Duke- there has rarely been a worse movie. From the supposed storyline to the complete lack of acting ability. So bad. If you must watch it, at least wait until it is free. I am appalled at having paid money to watch it.
