About the authors
Michael Anderle (ok, weird talking about myself in the 3rd person) (1967-Hopefully a long time from NOW) was born in Houston, Tx. A very curious child, he got into trouble - a lot. What to do with an inquisitive mind when he was grounded? Read!
Ok, done with all of that 3rd person stuff.
In the first 20 years, I mostly read Science Fiction and Fantasy. In the last 10 years I have enjoyed Urban Fantasy and Military Fiction. With this background, I've been blessed with creating The Kurtherian Gambit series, a well-selling, and fan loved, collection of stories.
The fans have propelled these stories beyond my wildest imagination and they should get all of the credit for sharing with friends, family and occasionally the random person on the street. They are fantastic!
Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore in the U.S. but have had a weird wanderlust to live in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.

In the fantasy world, some of my favorite characters are dwarves. I know, my friends find this amusing due to the fact that I am 6’5″ tall, and when we play fantasy games I usually play a dwarf. Go figure.
I came across the book Go Dwarf Yourself at the end of October. When I started reading it, I was taken right into the story: A dwarf, Johnny Walker, living in the Florida Everglades with two coon hounds invents a way to understand what they are saying to him, then the FBI shows up with a missing child case to entice him back to his bounty hunting job for the feds. He begrudgingly takes the job and gets a light elf partner (but do not use that word around him). The job takes him, his partner and two dogs to New York City, where all roads lead to the “Monsters Ball”, where once a year abducted girls are sold to the highest bidder for less than dubious reasons. The girl they are looking for is on the auction block. Time is ticking and the time to act is now!
The pro’s of this book is it is heavy on action. There is a wonderful mix of guns, magic and James Bond-esque gadgets. A back story develops for the hero that drives the book forward, and helps develop his character.
The con’s of this book: First of all, Johnny Walker is too good to be true. Everything he does is right and he knows it all. In the Everglades he knows it all. In New York City he knows it all, and through it all he has a “My way or the highway” attitude that becomes tedious. The overall voice of the book becomes broken from chapter to chapter. In one chapter, it feels like a well rounded adult wrote it, the next chapter can feel like a teenager was let loose with the F-bomb license and ends up sounding like a sailor with a wicked case of Tourette’s Syndrome. AND, the dogs being able to communicate with him becomes over done.
In the end, the cons far outweigh the pros for me.
I give this 3 out of 5 bookmarks.
All in all its a fun story, and It has its own unique flavor to it. I look forward to more adventures with the overpowered dwarf and his growing cast of sidekicks.
Top reviews from other countries

A good story, strong characters, plenty of action and the right amount of snark, kind of like a cross between Dirty Harry and James Bond's Q in a pint pot. An entertaining story with enough hints of an interesting back story yet to be told, the beginning of a good partnership, plenty to keep you amused and enough Black Label to float, well if not a Battleship, at least a Frigate.
The bad stuff......erm, not enough to mention.
So there it is, a very good paranormal private eye novel, different enough to not need comparison to any other series, and thus this book comes highly recommended.

I am excited to read the rest of this series and will be bingeing everything else they have written too.
It reminds me of the “Claw and Warder” series which is also great and I hope no-one minds the comparison.
