NO Shocker to see Lars is actually related to Ember but I am actually quite happy with that result. I am not too sure I like Lily right now.
All in all the book was good it moved a little more slowly than the last two books for my linking.
CURSE YOU CLIFFHANGER!!!! ish sort of.
Alright here it is Stacey – you neeeeeeed to give me book four now. Kay thanks.
Alright enough of that lets go on to the review
First WARNING: This is the THIRD book in a series, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS for BOOK ONE AND TWO, not this one. Promise. If there is I will find them. But I cannot guarantee there will not be spoilers for the first two, just how it is it.
Song Choice: (ohhh i have so many!) “Don’t Find Another Love” by Tegan and Sara, “All Our Endless Love” by The Bird and the Bee, “Skinny Jeans” by Eliza Doolittle “Glory and Gore” by Lorde.
First thoughts: So I fell in LOVE, with Stacey’s writing in the first book, and she only proves to get better as the series continues. TALK ABOUT just pure awesome-ness. This is what I would strive for. I am not kidding you Stacey you are my hero
Alright on to plot: There was so much action in this book, not that there wasn’t action in the last book too, but Stacey i think has this really awesome talent to mix both the feeling of go, go, go but we are still also sort of resting. I was GLAD this was not the last book in the series because we still have so much left to discover, even now after finishing book three we have so many mysteries left to be solved that I am just biting at the bit to get the next one, of course i am not going to torture myself with the sneak peek because i know it will only enrage me ;) but I am just dying to get my hands on Eli novella, i didn’t read it before reading this one because i was scared it would make want to read this one even more, im weird i can’t help it. Anyways moving on, so action, action, action, lots of mysteries to be solved here, lots of relationships to be worked through. Training, and oh so smexy men to undress! I mean…. nahhhh I mean Eli…nude, what else does a girl need? Hahaha alright, alright so this is more characters but i want to address, it the chemistry between Eli and Ember BEYOND INTENSE, serious, you can practically feel it. I LOVED IT I LOVED IT I LOVED IT. I was dying to be in Ember’s place at some points ;) anyways I love her characters and i will get to that spooon i will. Alright but the plot so good, so genius, it was original, and interesting, it kept you on your toes, and made sure you never knew what was going to happen next. Damn such a good book.
Characters:
Ember: If you know anything about my reviews, or me you know i have a soft spot for characters like Kennedy, the quiet, underestimated ones who have their own silent strength. But Damn Ember is by far one of my favorite Main Characters, ever. Yes, ever. And i am not just saying that to say it. I mean it. If she was real i would want to be her best friend, and possibly be the president of her fan club. Not only is she beyond witty, and has a sharp tongue on her. She is a really complex character, while she doesn’t “enjoy” the idea of killing or all these other bad things, she has an edge to her, she is not afraid to be mean, or stick up for herself, but mostly she loves and is loyal with a fierceness that to be commended. She always tries to be the best that she can be. And she does what she thinks is right. She is just amazing. Seriously <3
Eli: HOLY HOT CAKES. He really isn’t that stereotypical guy, every time i think he is going to turn around on us, and start acting like the “nice guy but who is actually still a “bad boy”” he isn’t he will never be. He is who is he and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that even Stacey wouldn’t change him. I think he has to be one of the greatest characters written. I really truly love him. I mean I am a too kindhearted person for my own good, but damn for him i wouldn’t mind being bad ;)
Kennedy: She really starts to grow into her own in this book and I will admit I still do have a soft spot for her and I do love her as a character and I secretly would love to read her side of the books. I would love to see how she deals with all this internally, and see her relationship with someone ;) ;) through her eyes.
There are a LOT A LOT of side characters in this book and I am not willing to go through them all, but I will say this they all have their own personal identities and personalities never once i didn’t i feel like i was losing them to what i like to call as the “side character effect” which basically means they start acting like one another, and taking on the wrong personalities than what they had in the first book. IF that makes sense. Anyways FABULOUS series, and I HIGHLY recommend them to all readers. This woman, yeah she can write <3
Since I addressed the ending at the beginning of this review, that is all i have to say about it.
This series feels strongly rooted, it has its own history, which lends a great solidity to the story. It really feels like it exists in its own alternate world just out of reach. This series is one of my top three paranormal/fantasy favorites, and I'm a bit of a connoisseur!

From the point of view of a fictional villain, Ember is an ideal heroine. If the villain takes a hostage, Ember will unfailingly offer herself in their stead then be surprised when, like the last umpteen times, the villain acts villainously and the hostage isn't saved. And there is an unending supply of available hostages. She also gets cuffed at the drop of a villainous hat, losing pretty much every fight. Then Lorcan shows up. Again. And, despite the fact that he has done nothing but lie to her since she met him, Ember instantly believes what he says and takes his word over Eli's. And cue hostage taking, and it begins again.
Ember seems to be growing less mature as the novels progress. Were she 14, her level of maturity would be appropriate, but Ember is 19+, we're told that she is 22 in human years at the start of the third novel. Not only does she repeat the same mistakes over and over, learning nothing, but she flies into tantrums for no obvious reason, and makes most of her decisions based on what seem to be hormone ravaged emotions rather than any sort of forethought. Nor can her behaviour be excused as appropriate for the heroine of a YA novel as the amount of graphic sex pretty much takes this book out of that category. Even the banter with the hero that seemed witty in the first book gets old here, lapsing into a cycle of: argue, banter, have sex, repeat.
I read the book because I'd bought the final two in the series based on the quality of the first two (which were pretty good). Had I known how badly and how fast the series would degenerate, I wouldn't have bought them.

Ember's and Eli's relationship is still fiery and explosive. But there is still more secrets being kept from her about him. She also learns more about the Unseelie King.
Still along way to go and more secrets to unfold .
