1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU VALUE YOUR CPU
By Gabe on March 14, 2019
as you can see from pictures the material isn't very good , it nicked the CPU PCB. Yes i made sure it was facing the arrow , and yes i tightened it really hard, Good thing when I heard a slight crunch sound I stopped , spend the extra money and get the rockit delid tool. The material is so weak that you can see that the CPU corners left a mark on it. Get one that is metal CNC'd.

1.0 out of 5 stars Destroyed my cpu!
By Braheem on October 20, 2018
Piece of garbage! Should be a simple matter of dropping the cpu in, putting on top, screwing it down then turning the tool. Nope! The stupid thing caught the lip of the pcb instead of the lid and ruined my cpu. Now I'm out 379 dollars.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you are into modding, this is the tool for you
By Perry F. on December 6, 2018
I was scared to put my $379 brand new CPU in this device and remove the IHS, but I am so glad I did it. Unlike the youtube video's I watched, my IHS did not pop. It crunched. I seriously thought I ruined the PCB, but said Eff it. If it's ruined, nothing I can do now about it. Nope. CPU runs like a damn champ.
As you can see in my pics, the first is my 8700k delided. The second is prior to deliding and the last is after deliding. Best mod you can do to you CPU IMO.
The product is well made and extremely easy to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cost effective CPU delidding tool with relid jig
By Ezveedub on May 13, 2019
Works exactly like instructions show. No issues at all with delidding a 7700K CPU. Clamped CPU in the tool, turned screw until it contacted the IHS then gave it one turn on the screw and waited a few seconds. Backed it off and turned it again one turn and maybe a little bit more and the IHS popped loose. Applying the IHS back was easy, but the tensioning screw can make the IHS twist ever so slightly when clamping it for regluing, so make note if this and look at the IHS on top of the CPU to make sure it stays 100% straight, but this is not really that much of any issue, as the CPU will still fit in the socket and you probably won’t notice it, just a FYI. I also used JB Weld black silicone, which was ready to go after about 3 hours under a halogen lamp being clamped to make the glue warm. Also, make sure you screw the 3 clamping bolts in all the way. They protrude out the bottom and if you don’t, the CPU is not held in place firmly and you will have issues.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nickel !
Reviewed in France on March 5, 2020
Delid d'un ancien processeur (I7-3770K). Fonctionne nickel.

Cordialement.

3.0 out of 5 stars Does the job although bends a little and creates metal fragments.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 20, 2018
Manages to delid 8700k fine. However, during the delid process the two black halves started to separate / bend from the allen key side despite the three screws being tightly screwed in. Also, the metal screw which pushes the metal block into the ihs actually bore into the block and created lots of tiny metal fragments. I was concerned if these were electrically conductive as they had a high chance of going all over the cpu. Also, this made me think that while tightening I was just boring into the metal block rather than pushing the ihs instead.
However, I managed to delide fine and cleaned up the metal fragments.
