It is not very often I buy books on-line - usually kindle books for me to read - but I wanted some special books for presents at Christmas. This one looked perfect - however - my fault - I hadn't noticed that it was a 'pocket' version of the book and if I had I would not have appreciated just what size exactly 'pocket' is. This book is soooo tiny that I nearly threw it away with the packaging. In a book where you are looking for objects, such a tiny version seems strange. I certainly didn't think I would possibly be using a magnifying glass!
I really hope that this doesn't spoil reading the book with my grandchildren - because the book and pictures looked lovely on the preview on Amazon.
I will often now find my little girl reciting the words to herself! It is a firm favourite.
A true classic and a well recommended 'must' for any child's bookshelves.
I know it's a great book but this size isn't really suitable for a one-year-old.
It's a great book for rhyming and looking for the characters in the pictures.
My only issue is I ended up with 2 of the pages doubled, this may seem like a small thing but when my baby is bigger and insists on reading each page it may be annoying.
Always a great read for my babies (now grown up) and grand babies.
i remember my teacher reading this to the class when we were 5 or so, and still remember the words
bought this for my 3.5 year old about 6 months ago, and she loves it too, can recite the words and the artwork is very peaceful, often the book thats chosen for bedtime, husband likes it too. its fun spotting the characters on each page
definitely could be bought for a much younger child
