However, I am familiar with other work by this brilliant author and the "similarities" between the Trellixians and Hocklyns from the other saga are so striking, and the whole ending is so "deja vu", that I cannot, in good conscience, say this book brings any revelations.
Don't get me wrong - this is a very good read and I enjoyed it very much, but the wrapping up of the story was ... anti-climactic for me. I fully expected another book, up until the last chapter, which abruptly ends the whole story (or so it seems). And although most (if not all) major plot lines are wrapped up just fine, the book left me wanting something more.
The ending seems rushed - as if there were incredible deadlines to be met that made the author shorter the original intent and closed the series in a tight, single chapter. This I did not like. And although the story leaves several threads that could be built upon (and I hope they will be developed in the future in the form of another book or a short-story at the least), I still expected a bit more of this one.
Nevertheless, the writing is brilliant, the characters are (as usual) sympathetic. And although some plot twists are predictable (not to write any spoilers but this book contains some incredibly ludicrous, yet expected plot twists), you will still enjoy them soo much.
I recommend this book to both fans of this author and new readers who have not read the Slaver Wars series (which I definitely recommend, too).
Overall though, you will loved the book. Enjoy them all from book 1-3. I highly recommend this series. Perhaps, the author may want to write a sequel that explore the story on what happen to the Jelnoid perhaps some survivors survive in some distant star system or some survive underground on their home world. You know things like this!
Raymond, sorry to hear about your health problem and I wish you well on your road to a full recovery. You are a dedicated writer and care about your readers which I find admiral.
