Sitting here, with tears rolling, having just finished Echo. Just got the book yesterday, couldn't put it down. Knowing Echo was going to be released soon, I went back and read the entire series again in preparation. This cannot be the end of the Breakthrough series. There is too much left unsaid. There are too many questions I have so Michael C. Grumley, you can't leave it here. Li Na Wei must go on; Echo must show us more; John Clay and Alison have a beautiful future... please don't leave us all hanging. And Dulcie, DeeAnn... etc., Caesar, Neely, MOngal, Hayes, and all the others who have become like family... I and all your fans are going to need more. There's too much left unfinished. After taking a short break to eat and sleep again, I may have to read Echo once again!

I have loved Michael Grumley's Breakthrough series from book 1. I actually purchased this one for my Kindle because I couldn't wait for the paperback book to arrive and once again he does not fail to weave a phenomenal tale.

This book had me alternatingly gripping my Kindle like there was no tomorrow, tears flowing with his way of embodying emotions into words, be it with 2 legged, 4 legged or our fin-ful friends, and laughing outright with the delicious bantering back and forth between the 2 main male characters . Such a delightful and fun way to spend two days. A much needed respite from the present world.

This book, as with all of his books, leaves much room for thought. About our present world, what we truly value, what mark we want to leave on our world. This book, the conclusion of the Breakthrough series, left me deeply satisfied. Do I wish there were more in the series? You bet. But life does go on and I trust in Michael Grumley's wisdom to expand his field and fly us into another great, magnificent adventure.

Last but not least, I'm eagerly awaiting Scott Brick's narrative of this book. Yup, that's already pre-ordered too. There's a lot to be said for sweet anticipation.

Thank you, Michael, for another wonderful read.

Intelligent Optimism--and a Rousing Good Tale

Michael C. Grumley is a particular favorite of mine even though his work isn't one of my usual genres. This book is especially timely. It's hard to avoid pessimism as you look at the mess we humans are creating. Somehow, Michael is able to see beyond the sorry state we've produced and suggest something positive--not just positive, breathtaking in its scope.

He has a special talent for making his blend of science and imagination credible and compelling. This book wasn't a quick read for me. I found myself closing my Kindle to think about the possibilities he presented and then going back for more. Like his earlier work, especially Breakthrough, Michael gives his readers a nice blend of action and deeper questions--the 3 AM kind.

Michael Grumley is hands down one of the best authors out there. This amazing series has been incredible. The characters are almost like family because he has the rare ability to bring the cast to life. I've devoured his books solely on his concise, crisp telling of the story. I know this is supposed to be the end of the series, but there is so much left to be told. The dolphins, Dirk, Sally, and new baby need to have their story expanded. Allison and John, Steve and Neely, Li Na, the explanation of the writings on the ship, these subjects need some further telling. Also, the ending when Director Andrew Hayes was told he was relieved of duty made my jaw drop. What the neck was that all about.

So, I'm sorry Michael but you need to get writing yesterday to put my mind at rest. Just a small suggestion, if you want to read one of the best authors around, get the first book, read it and I guarantee you'll be getting all 6 in the series. Would I recommend Michael Grumley, oh most definitely.

The Breakthrough series is an amazing, thought-provoking and entertaining series. The author captures your imagination - to the point where you hope it is all true. The characters are people you want to meet in real life. I especially like how the storyline continues without a blip from book to book and with the next book you feel like you're back with old friends that have been gone too long. I want to meet Clay, Ceasare, Alison and Borger. The most current book, Echo, left me crying and happy and energized. I also like the way the author finishes a book, yet leaves you wanting more. PLEASE, Mr. Grumley, give us more!!!

After reading ECHO, it reminded me why I loved the BREAKTHROUGH series. After BREAKTHROUGH, I was totally all in for anything Michael C. Grumley wrote. His knowledge of dolphins blew me away. He writes with empathy for these beautiful animals, and how they become to interact with humans. I'd read all of the series, and was so pleased to see there was another coming out. I read ECHO in less than 24 hours, there was no way I was putting it down! Any fan of his will be will laugh, cry, sit in awe of how Grumley weaves this tale. I recommend it to any reader as a 'can't put down book'. I know you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

I have been looking so forward to this book. In fact, I re-read the whole series again to prepare me for the last treasure. A TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT!!! It feels like he was totally bored with the subjects and his characters and couldn't come up with anything interesting about them. I noticed as I read (my kindle) that it was zipping by really fast ... nothing here folks, move along. Filled with odd facts about saints of old and the Ark of the Covenant. I got 75% finished and stopped reading. Hopefully on to something more interesting. SUCH A HUGE LETDOWN!!!!!
