How Can it be so Bad?
Verified purchase
With so many good actors, you'd think this movie would at least be somewhat good. It's not. It's really REALLY bad. Whoever wrote the dialogue needs to never make another movie again. It should be a crime to have so much star power at your disposal and still manage to make such a steaming pile of a movie.

just the kind of movie I like to watch

I like the action and violence. I like the abundance of shooting. I like the explosions. I like the punching and kicking. There was music from my day when I was in high school in the sixties. I found this recommendation first in the row of what Amazon Prime Video believed that based on what I have watched that I would like this one too and that was correct.

Good Entertainment

People watch movies for entertainment and the standard for rating a movie ought to be its entertainment value. This movie was very enertaining with a different twist on police action vs. journalism.

LL Cool J Plays His Role Very Well
Verified purchase
At first, I choose to watching this movie because Morgan Freeman was in it; then, as the movie unfolded, I watched because LL Cool J was such a great actor. It's almost like watching Wayne Brady play a gangster. The plot and story line is perfect. Great drama with just enough action.

Not a bad cop film. Great cast here, but almost low quality in appearance. I don't know if they were trying to go for gritty or something here, but the "style" of filming, if there really was a purpose behind it, it's really lacking in quality. As a side note, while the journalistic practices portrayed in this film aren't entirely correct, the writers get it right more often than not, and as a journalist-in-training, I can really appreciate that.

As music artist, Justin Timberlake and L.L. Cool J's performances really surprised me. For such a serious hardcore storyline and complex characters, they held their own along side seasoned actors like Dillon, Morgan and Kevin. The movie was done really well, shot beautifully, and directed with great attention to detail.

Good entertainment for adolescents: 14-18 age group!
Verified purchase
I believe no decent American city would permit this piece of trash to be film there; so it looks like to me they went to some Asian city with lots of light! Also, I should have known that having Justin Timberlake earmerked this film to be for the very young, foolish and liking car crashes constantly, and the "f" word!

I have no idea why Morgan Freeman was there! I guess he just liked to make movies!

Terrible, boring, no writing, adolescent garbage!
