About Elaine Bergstrom
Elaine Bergstrom was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and is the product of 16 years of Catholic education which, she is sure, has strongly affected her work. Her first novel, Shattered Glass, was among the first vampire romances and created a family of vampiric immortals -- powerful, eternal but with some odd constraints on their natures. It was set in her hometown and the church she attended as a child. It received critical acclaim, including a Stoker nomination, and has been followed by four other novels of the Austra family. Under the pseudonym Marie Kiraly (her grandmother's name), she has written two Dracula sequels: Mina...the Dracula Story Continues and Blood to Blood. She resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she runs a novel writing workshop, freelances as a TV and film critic, takes care of too many cats, and writes grumpy old lady letters to her congressmen and local papers. You can get additional information on her books and upcoming appearances at elainebergstrom.com
The kindle edition of Shattered Glass is the "author's cut" version -- including 10,000 words not included in the original paperback.

A creation of magic as old as Ravenloft itself, the tapestry possesses the power to attract and absorb the evil creatures that roam the Dark Domains. Only a reclusive order of monks, the Guardians, know of the tapestry's might. It is their duty to use it wisely and to prevent the beings bound within the cloth from escaping.
Yet the number of Guardians is dwindling, their hold over the tapestry slipping with each passing year. Their only hope for containing the evil is Jonathan, a youth with strange magical powers. When the boy discovers his ties to the creatures of the cloth, however, he may become the guardians' doom instead of their champion.
“If you’re a timid reader, then don’t read this novel. If you’re a rather puritanical reader, then don’t read this novel. If, however, you’re a huge vampire fan in search of details that humanize and mythologize vampires, then this is definitely a book for you! Shattered Glass may not wholly embrace all the characteristics of the traditional vampires, but it definitely establishes a new breed of vampire worth reading about.” – Starfire Reviews
Stephen Austra -- glass artist and immortal – is the head of a family that acquired wealth and fame for its marvelous creations of stained glass windows in medieval cathedrals and churches. While restoring a historic Midwest church, he meets a young painter, Helen Wells. Their attraction is immediate and intense, but she is more than just a potential lover. She also has the capacity to save his race, if he can only keep her and those she loves safe from the dark force that is stalking both of them.
Chilling, erotic, a sensational read!
“… [includes] one of the most horrific chapters in vampire literature.”
– J. Gordon Melton, author of The Vampire Encyclopedia
This stunning sequel to Nocturne moves from the wilderness of Canada to the Old One’s keep on a remote mountain in Romania where Stephen Austra and Michael Celac struggle to protect the ones they love from a deadly plot, the outcome of which will change not only their family’s future, but that of the human race.
So begins a tale of madness and betrayal, in which Poe is both participant and narrator, one that will pit him against a woman with terrible powers and a family as twisted as any in his most terrible creations. As he fights for the woman he pities and his own sanity can he be any match for the perverse schemes of the infamous Madeline Usher?
