It’s not much better than a laptop webcam

First attempt at using this cam with OBS on a MacBook Air 2020, the recordings have flickering green lines and stuttering frames. I think it may be a faulty usb cable that came with the product. The image quality seems similar to a laptop cam, maybe a little better, but less than a cell phone cam. I might return this and get an old unlocked iPhone on eBay and try to use that as a dedicated webcam instead. It would be nice if Apple put iPhone cameras in MacBooks.Update: used a different usb c to usb c cable plugged directly into laptop and got the same flickering green lines when recording in OBS on the MacBook Air 2020. Can’t use this for my work flow, which is simply recording the webcam and desktop capture in OBS. Will be returning.Second update: It could have just been my settings that were causing the flickering green lines. I updated OBS, switched the Facecam to 1080p @30fps, changed the downscale filter in OBS to Bicubic, and changed the common FPS to 29.97 and got much better results.Thinking about keeping this Facecam now. It’s easier and more convenient to set up than a DSLR camera as a webcam.Update: it’s been 4 months now and I decided to keep the Facecam. With the new software update from Elgato, the flickering green lines issue seems to have been fixed. This is a good webcam choice from the ones I’ve tried at a reasonable price point. If you are thinking about doing anything streaming related with OBS and this webcam, would highly recommend getting a Windows PC. Soo many issues trying to use a Mac, which all seemed to go away when I tried the same workflow on a PC, and the CPU usage was dramatically better on PC.

I honestly had some trouble with the settings but after about an hour of messing with them, I believe I'm track. It looks great and great range. Deff a great starter for streaming or even just recording.
ALSO always have your lighting on the same page. As you can see from my photos, they are both different all depending on lighting but both had same or very similar settings.

First of all, I rarely write reviews. I also LOVE Elgato products. I own a few of them. This review is not to spite them, and that maybe it's just my case scenario.
I do love the lens quality of the webcam. The webcam is good for what it is. It blows my Logitech c920 out of the park with its image quality. 1080p 60fps is buttery smooth, but it lack's autofocus if that's what you're looking for in a webcam. The camera controls on their Elgato Camera Hub software is much more advanced compared to Logitech's camera software. You can control Shutter speed, ISO, Sharpness, and much more than Logitechs.
The only CONS I have is that the build quality is questionable compared to my c920. It feels cheap. It feels like cheap plastic.
Not only that, My first order of the camera had dust stuck inside the lens, so I thought it must be just this order? I decided to get a replacement, but it still had the same problem.
Maybe it's just the two copies I got? If you do plan to order to do your due diligence when buying this. Make sure there's no dust inside of the lens. I have picture's of what I mean, it could be hard to see, but I say what I mean.

+ Leichte Einrichtung
+ Konfiguartions-Daten können IN der Kamera gespeichert werden (wenn man sie z.B. an mehreren Rechnern nutzt.)
+ Echte 1080p60
+ Angenehm großes Gehäuse
Negativ:
- Bildqualität steht weit hinter der von Systemkameras zurück, vergl. Sony ZV-E10 oder ähnliches (Siehe Foto)
- Das gesamte Bild ist Scharf, kein Bokeh möglich (oder wenigstens den Hintergrund unscharf stellen)
- Trotz des großen Sensors Probleme bei weniger Licht
- Der sehr hohe Preis
Fazit:
Wenn es eine universell einsatzbare Webcam sein soll, ist die Facecam ok. Für diesen stolzen Preis bekommt man aber durchaus auch günstigeres. Das die Konfiguration in der Kamera gespeichert werden kann, ist sehr gut. Somit kann man das Gerät auch an Rechnern nutzen, ohne die Elgato-Software zu installieren.
Generell kann man die Kamera nur gut bei Tageslicht verwenden. Selbst mit den Elgato-Keylights bekommt man nur ein sehr "verwaschenes" Bild hin.
