Ellen

 (83)
6.11998NR
This season finds Ellen having come to grips with the fact that she is gay, which is liberating yet terrifying for her at the same time. The people closest to Ellen don't always make things easier either. Her best friend, Paige (Joely Fisher), a rising Hollywood executive, and her cousin, Spence (Jeremy Piven), are still a couple, which sometimes puts Ellen in the middle.

Goes on and on about Ellen’s revealed sexual orientation and yes while that is important I thought it was supposed to be just an hilarious arrange of stories that Ellen and her friends get caught up in.......so disappointing

A total disappointment!

A complete waste of time and money. The other four seasons were funny. This is not. “Me thinks, the lady doth protest too much”.

I love Ellen

When this series came out, I had to hide the fact that I watched it from my husband. It is not surprising I suffered a divorce several years later. Now, thanks to Amazon, I can watch Ellen whenever I want!

I love Ellen's DVDs
Verified purchase
This is one of my favorite seasons, I have all Ellen DVDs. However, one odd thing about this dvd is that the first volume of the dvd plays pretty much in every dvd player, even in Europe... they're not region code 1, just like all the other Ellen Seasons. But the weirdest thing is that volume 2 and 3 of Season 5 are all of the sudden region code 1 and they don't play on a European DVD Player. Sure I can watch the episodes on a computer but that is kinda annoying and it absolutely doesn't make any sense that in one dvd pack 1 works for Europe and the 2 other ones don't.

Also I would have appreciated if there had been subtitles for people hard of hearing.

So I have to say, I love the Ellen sit-com but the ones that put it on DVD, they kinda screwed up.

But she has made a comeback like none other
Verified purchase
It is a shame the way she was treated during this time. But she has made a comeback like none other. She is the funniest woman plus one of the kindest. Her sitcoms were hilarious and this series is proof positive.

Seasons 1 through 4 were great. But in season 5
Verified purchase
Seasons 1 through 4 were great. But in season 5, we get clobbered over the head with I AM GAY. We get it Ellen. But still pretty good, but not as good as the other seasons.

Funny and Historic.

This's very funny and historic. I love watching this over and over again, from season 1 to 5 to see how characters developed. It's the best show ever.
