Some really nice touches to this Elvis doc

I thought I knew all about Elvis (although I'm not a big fan.) But there were things for me to learn here in this doc. Elvis was a stronger presence in the studio than I had assumed. Unlike many other Classic Album episodes, this does not focus on the making of an album. Very little info about that survives, but some original master tapes do. They include a deleted verse from "Shake, Rattle and Roll" deemed too risqué for the times. Nice cameo from Keith Richards. It also has some good explanations about the music in the early 1950s and why Elvis was so different then -- although considered stereotypical now.

Elvis was from Mars, in a good way

Classic album series are usually fascinating, and this is a good one. Elvis changed everything -- in popular music. He had a natural charisma.

Real neat early account of how Elvis came about and how his music culturally transcended through history
