A good World War II Movie...not the war of front lines battles but the homefront battles.

The plot dealt with a teenage girl and her family during World War II. There many point of views shown in the movie: The unsafe city life, going to different schools, a house without a father, a lonely wife who took up alcohol, the young man who refused to go to war. The filmography was excellent with the nature scenes of the countryside, old cars, military uniforms and clothes of the era. Lee Remick was just beautiful and so talented.

Lee Remick plays her part exquisitely as she always does, she even squeaks a tell tale
Aussie accent to the sharp ear. My mother was Emma's age exactly during the war.
The girls with the long braided tales and knee high socks we're typical in those years.
The Australian accent is more consistent and quite lovely with the women and girls.
The men have more character to their accents. Having lived in Australia myself
after 6 months no one could tell I was an American, on occasion I would have to
show my American ID and speak "American," and many Australians would have
none of my fake American accent. I meant to go back to Australia. But, life doesn't
always cooperate. I watch every drama I can from Down Under and they hold a special
place in my heart and mind, along with my British friends. The heart and soul of the
World was saved by the British, Australian and American service men and their families
back home. Emma's War is a little gem of space and time in Australia during the second
World war.
