Elin Hilderbrand’s first published story appeared in SEVENTEEN magazine in January of 1993. She’s a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University and the Iowa Writers Workshop. One big gripe folks seem to have with this collection is that many of its stories involve characters from books they read over many years - and it has been simply too long since they read those books to recall the characters and their stories.

But my friend just discovered Elin last year, and devoured every book in under 12 months. For her, this is a GREAT collection, and has enjoyed revisiting some of those characters.

If you do not mind having to recall some things, it’s right up there with her other books. Keep in mind whether you haven’t read some books for years, as well as whether short stories and novellas are for you (not everyone enjoys them), and choose accordingly!

I have read every one of Elin’s books. I don’t have one favorite, they are all my favorites. This book of short stories are written around her books…what happened before or after the book. You remember the characters, the plots, the tears and smiles. I am never disappointed by Elin’s books.

I am a huge Elin Hilderbrand fan, however this compilation of prequels and sequels to pruner prior books was not one of my favorites. Many of the books reference were written quite some time ago and recalling the original storyline at times was difficult.
