Here's Why Epson Provides the Best Inks
Innovative Ink Cartridge Technology
Epson cartridges are more than just plastic containers filled with ink. Each cartridge contains a great deal of technology, including SmartValve technology that enables an even ink flow and helps you produce outstanding prints.
Epson Intellidge Technology
You don't want to run out of ink while working on that important project or printing your favorite photos. The Intellidge chip from Epson lets you know when your printer/all-in-one is running low on ink, before you run out.
Epson's Ink Quality Control
Epson manufactures its inks in 'clean rooms' in compliance with the highest standards to ensure that Epson inks deliver reliable, smudge and fade resistant, quality output.

For those who say the ink cartridges aren't full:
First, you have no way of knowing this unless you drain it out. You also need to realize that there is one other factor that determines usage, and that's the paper you use. I use Epson photo quality paper only, because it really does produce the best results. Some papers absorb more ink. And if you're using the cheap stuff, forget it - you'll waste ink and have a poor print out.
I can easily print more than 150 high-quality 4x6 photos on a run of cartridges. Once you start printing images with dominating colors, you'll find you need to change specific cartridges more regularly. But the higher end printers aren't meant to be used to save money, but rather to produce awesome results right then.
These packs used to be cheaper across the board. All prices went up, but the price here is definitely much less than competing office supply chains.
I PUT THE 2 NEW CARTRIDGES IN AND THE PRINTER WOULD NOT PRINT WITH THEM. I RETURNED THE PACKAGE AND NOW THE SELLER WANTS TO RETURN ONLY HALF BECAUSE THE PACKAGE WAS OPENED AND "USED". THE PACKAGE AND TRIED TO USE THE CARTRIDGES AND THIS IS THE POLICY OF AMAZON? I ORDERED FROM YOU? THIS IS NOT RIGHT. IF A PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK I AM WILL GET REFUND ONLY HALF BECAUSE I TRIED TO USE IT?
THIS IS NOT RIGHT.
1. It's black ink, and it prints black.
2. It's compatible with the Epson printers, being an Epson cartridge.
3. It's easy to change the cartridge.
1. Epson can leave a lot of ink in the cartridge when it declares that the cartridge must be changed.
2. Epson designed this ink to favor it's "vividness" over longevity. The inks are water soluble. So if you spill your coffee on the page, the inks run everywhere. If you were to take a photo to a very humid environment, the same thing would happen. The pages don't last long.
3. The ink bleeds terribly on plain paper resulting in a very blurry print. It's obviously not a laserjet but still very blurry for an inkjet.
4. Printing a photo is expensive compared to online or local print shops. This is generally true of all inkjets compared to Snapfish, Walgreens, Flickr, CVS, etc.
I would not have bought the printer in the first place had I know Con #2, but, as long as I have it, this is the ink to buy.
Yes, I also ignore the low ink reminders until it refuses to print. And even then I sure hear ink in there when I remove it. But I bought an Epson for my other computer because all colors and the black ink cartridges for my Lexmark dried up in less than 4 months of very light use (less than 100 pages). So Epson it is...
