I’m not sure what my previous guitar strings were when I bought my les Paul special edition 2 but these were a lot thicker to my fingers and I must say these are amazing even from all the genre I play. I really enjoy these and I’m going to experiment on other Earnie ball strings!
I've been playing with EB slinky string since I started gigging in 1981. I have been through phases of using Super Slinkys and Hybrid Slinkys, but I always come back to Regular Slinkys. They produce a good strong tone, but still allow for string bending. I play almost exclusively in standard tuning. Drop D enthusiasts may prefer the added bass beef of the Hybrids.
I have also used many other brands, but for whatever reason, EBs are still my go to, string of choice. I use the, on my Strat, my Tele and my Les Paul, all with good results.
I am also pleased that they do not break on me.
Always use fresh strings when you set up the guitar and change them regularly. Old strings will always sound dead and muddy, whichever make you choose.
I use these on a few guitars and have done for years. They last a good while and I rarely break them (meaning my guitars often get overdue for a change!). They do tarnish like all strings but seem to resist rust well and keep their brightness for a decent length of time. They bed in well too, only needing a bit of a tug after tuning up to get them stretched and staying in tune.
When your strings lose their zing, as all strings eventually do, I turn to these as an immediate response, and the guitar comes back to life. I do have other sets, but only restring using them when I have guest guitarists to impress with the tone.
I have been playing the guitar for 25 years or so, and have tried many many sets of strings. Whatever I try, I always come back to Ernie Ball Slinkys! The just have a such a great tone and last long enough compared to their cost to make them a really affordable, great sounding set of strings. Highly recommended!
I've never had a problem with any of the Earnie Ball strings I've had in the past, they are my goto string of choice for electric guitar, I bought these for my electro accoustic guitar that I bought from the Facebook Marketplace last month.
I've been playing for 15 years and I have tried many string brands. Ernie Ball keeps me happy. They last, rarely break when tuning and sound great most of all... Packing is great, the sealed individual packs really helps. Other brands dont have this.
I'm a beginner so can't really comment on the tone, but they sound good to me and were very well packaged in individual little pockets, also first time I had restrung a guitar and was pretty strait foward with these, all I'd say is use some decent pliers to trim the wire, as I had cheap ones and because these are very solid strings they chiped the cutting edge of my pliers, but if anything that's a good thing hopefully means they will last
