Every time I make meatloaf something goes wrong and I always end up throwing it out, my search for a good recipe has definitely come to a halt. Eva's meatloaf is amazing! I do substitute ground turkey for the beef but it is still amazing! Even my picky eater (my 2.5 year old) loved it! I will FOREVER use this recipe and this recipe only for meatloaf!
The lemon chicken is so delicious and quick, I have always loved Panko chips and am so glad that Eva features them in her book they are just so yummy and crispy.
I have vowed to try every single recipe in her book, even if I am Latina and I know how to make a lot of these recipes without a book her recipes differ a bit from mine so I am going to try them. If they are anything like the other recipes I've tried they will most likely replace my current recipes.
The Lemon Fettucine is a new favorite in my house, I added shrimp to make it an entree instead of a side. I also use the garden delight Ronzonu noodles or whole wheat noodles in place of regular. But I have never had a pasta that was so light in my stomach yet so full of flavor and amazing in my mouth. I don't think I will ever make fettucine any other way.
I am going to be making Cuban Ropa vieja this weekend and I am so excited. I'll be cooking with Eva everyday until I am through trying all these recipes.
There is not one recipe in this book that seems unappetizing to me. Eva Longoria definitely has a huge love for cooking and family, and it shows through all these amazing recipes. I love that she incorporated her sister in this cook book as well.
If you don't have this cookbook you don't know what your missing!

That said, Longoria's passion in the kitchen is the kind of food writing and recipe building I gravitate towards and therefore can't wait to try the recipes. Most look simple enough and not too expensive. The reasons I give it three stars would be that a lot of the recipes look like they'd feed a family of eight - so for two people I'm not sure when the opportunity will present itself. Additionally, not being wholly Mexican focused, the book loses a bit of a thread and doesn't seem cohesive in parts. Supposedly Longoria marketed the content as 'her journey' with food - growing up in Texas but then travelling internationally as an actress. That said, it might have made more sense to stick with her roots and really demonstrate her expertise in one cuisine.
It's probably a book just for Eva Longoria fans, not for those looking for a Mexican cookbook by a star name.
