The perfect business-travel companion
We’ve crafted the Atlas 17.3-inch laptop backpack with thoughtful details for all your traveling needs, like our 5-point balance strap system to lighten the load, and the quick-access top pocket for a boarding pass or phone. The dedicated technology compartment safely and securely stores up to a 17.3-inch laptop as well as your tablet, while the main compartment is large enough to carry whatever you need for an overseas flight from check-in to landing. Also, you’ll find the Checkpoint Friendly design makes passing through security a breeze. Your business cards, magazines and accessories each have designated spots; and when you arrive at your destination, you’re ready to step right into the business meeting. The Atlas – finally, the ideal traveling companion.
- Fits laptops up to 17.3-Inch
- Laptop compartment: 11.1 x 1.5 x 16.5 in
- External dimensions: 13.4 x 9.1 x 18.9 in
- Capacity: 32 L
- Bag weight: 4 lbs
The fully adjustable and padded laptop pocket adapts to snugly secure a slim 13-inch Ultrabook or a large 17.3-inch laptop. Customize the size of the pocket from the bottom and both sides, and use the Velcro strap to secure your device from the top. Both laptop and tablet will remain safe in their extra padded and super soft, felt-lined pockets. The laptop compartment is also Checkpoint Friendly, and allows you to pass through airport security without removing the device from its pocket. Simply open the Atlas up 180 degrees, lay it flat, and your bag will quickly pass through the scanner.
Quick-access magazine/newspaper slot
It’s always nice to have something to read while waiting for a flight, but it can be somewhat hectic to store your reading material when the flight is called. We designed the Atlas with a quick-access magazine slot to easily slip your reading material right back into the bag. The slot is placed at the front of the backpack so you can stash your magazine when boarding, and quickly retrieve it again when you’re seated. Thoughtful details throughout the Atlas help to make your travel more enjoyable.
When your backpack is fully loaded it can get heavy, so we engineered a 5-point balance strap system to ergonomically distribute the weight and reduce muscle strain. With two pillow-soft straps adjustable at the shoulders, two quick-slide straps at the bottom and one across the chest, you have total control over weight distribution. This allows for balanced comfort, even when the backpack is full. The Atlas’ ergonomically designed carry system also has a padded lumbar support with mesh padding to provide maximum air circulation for breathability. The Atlas: highly functional, cool comfort.
Trolley handle pass-through
When traveling with many bags, the trolley handle pass-through on the back of the Atlas allows you to double your efforts. Simply slip the Atlas onto the handle of your luggage and you’re ready to wheel through the airport.
Easy-adjust strap management system
Don’t let dangling straps make you look disheveled. The strap-management system we designed for the Atlas allows you to adjust each strap to just the right length, and slide the strap clip to keep the straps from dangling, keeping you looking neat and professional.
All EVERKI interiors are stylish, high-contrast orange because we know how frustrating it is to mistakenly leave a compartment unzipped, and how difficult it is to organize against a black background. Savvy and Stylish.
Large zippers and metal pulls
Have you ever broken a zipper on your favorite bag? We have. That’s why we designed the Atlas using heavy duty zippers with extra large metal pulls. So your favorite bag can remain your favorite bag.

If traveling for business is your thing, then this laptop bag is the ideal companion. From its subtly stylish, handsome exterior to its thoughtfully-organized interior, the Atlas backpack is designed to meet the expectations of even the most serious traveling professional. In addition to featuring a Checkpoint Friendly design that makes passing through airport security a breeze, this bag also debuts Everki's innovative adjustable laptop slot - three separate panels that allow the user to set his or her desired size and secure using sturdy Velcro strips. This pocket holds a 13" Ultra book just as snugly, safely, and easily as it does a 17.3" laptop, making the Atlas a versatile backpack suitable for any situation. Like many of Everki's bags, the Atlas comes equipped with a multitude of useful, highly-functional features, including a felt-lined iPad/Kindle/tablet pocket, a trolley handle pass-through slot, and a convenient newspaper/magazine pocket, to name just a few. Combine these with lightweight construction, durable, high-quality zippers, numerous well-organized compartments and slots, a key ring buckle, high-contrast orange lining, and lots of leftover interior space, and you've got everything you can possibly ask for in a laptop bag. A quick look through the Atlas reveals that Everki created this bag with organization in mind, with a dedicated spot for virtually everything the traveler needs to bring along for the ride - headphones, peripherals, files and documents, water bottle, and plenty more. What's more, its soft lumbar pad and ergonomic five-point balance strap system properly distribute weight to ensure that the wearer is comfortable, even when the bag is fully loaded. Whether you are flying across the country for a meeting or conference or simply commuting to work, this versatile bag maximizes space and comfort while it minimizes bulk and eliminates hassle.

Priority #1 - NEVER EVER BE FORCED TO CHECK MY BAG AT THE AIRPORT
My number-one concern was that I wanted to find a backpack that I would NEVER have to check at the airport. I like to travel very light (one bag only!), and loathe ever having to check a bag (for example, on a crowded holiday flight I had to check my previous backpack even though it would fit in the overhead compartment space easily the plane was too full by the time it was my time to board). Success with the Everki Atlas. Even when I filled the backpack up, the backpack doesn't stretch too much and I have been able to shove it under all the airplane seats I've tried.
Priority #2 - Secure laptop padding & TSA-approved design
... Yup. On the laptop padding: the Everki Atlas is the only backpack I've owned where I truly felt like my laptop was safe and secure and not about to be damaged. In almost every other bag, even with a laptop slot and a cover over my laptop, I was always worried. Not so with the Everki.
Priority #3 - Pockets.
Thankfully, there are plenty of organizational pockets with the Everki Atlas. As a girl, I get frustrated at the lack of useful pockets in both women's clothing and bag options. The Atlas has everything I'd ever want.
Priority #4 - acceptable at work
... This backpack is not something I would take to a nightclub (obviously), but anything work or travel-related for me and this is THE bag. I don't find it to be overkill going in to work either - I like having plenty of space to put my lunch, a notebook, reading book, purse, extra sweater, etc.
Other things that I love about Everki Atlas:
~ The sunglasses pocket at the top - so glad that it exists and also glad that it's a soft shell so it doesn't take up extra space if not being used.
~ The open pocket in the front - very handy when I just need to shove something in there quickly
~ This is so comfortable! It doesn't hurt my shoulders - I absolutely love how thick and padded the shoulder-straps are.
~ Grateful for the extra tiny loop at the top (this allows me to hook it on the stall any bathroom door that has a small hook)
~ The bag stands upright by itself so you don't need to lean it against anything.
Suggested improvements for new model if Everki reads this:
1) add two compression straps on the side - the bag is so well designed it doesn't "need" compression straps, but I like to use them walking around (especially at the airport) to loop my jacket off of one side (I solved this by attaching a carabiner-bungee cord to the small loop in the center and the top handle)
2) a slightly bigger water-bottle side pocket, although I was able to make it work - that being said I really appreciate that those pockets zip all the way up.
3) include the rain-cover, that would have been a nice bonus
Extra note on traveling as a "one-bag-only" traveler with the Everki Atlas:
So, my biggest feat yet as a "one-bag-only" traveler was being able to do a 3-week trip in China - in the middle of winter! - with just this one bag (as a girl!). NOT because the bag is hugely oversized - it's not oversized, just well designed. I was able to fit 3 small packing-cubes of (winter) clothes (not overstuffed), plus toiletries, plus two books, sunglasses, travel purse, and my laptop, tablet, spare pair of ballet-flats and some snacks for the flight. And - just to test it out - it fit under the airplane seat!
In this bag I carry the following:
1. 17" Laptop, travel charging kit for laptop
2. Nexus 7
3. Nexus 5
4. 2-3 Folders for documents, receipts
5. 3 subject Spiral notebook
6. glasses case
7. Wireless Headset
8. Over the ear noise canceling headset
9. Mini wireless router (travel router)
10. WD 1TB external HDD
11. Wireless Mouse
12. Car charger USB adapater
13 3 USB AC Charging adapters
14. all kinds of cables
15. BT ear piece
16. everything else I might need with room to spare.
With my other backpacks all the above would bulge out the backpack and also weigh down more on my lower back than up around my chest and shoulders. This bag does not do either so those quick runs across the airport from gate to gate do not take out anyone else you may be running past or your back muscles. The two water bottle compartments on either side of the bag are zippered compartments so I use one of them for any medications I may need quick access to giving me even more storage options.
For me the Atlas hits the sweet spot between Everki's Titan and Flight backpacks in terms of both price and capacity. I didn't want to invest more than $200 into a backpack and the Flight backpack was not large enough for my current laptop rig. The Atlas seems to have been created to target a frequent business traveler like myself. Would highly recommend this bag to anyone.

I came across Everki when I was looking for a bag for my Alienware 18 laptop and only the Titan was big enough for it to go in.
Since I sold the AW18 and bought a smaller 15.6" laptop, I needed a new bag. I did a lot of research across multiple brands including Samsonite, Swissgear etc and came back every time to Everki.
I love the functionality built into the bag. Genius little touches like a water bottle retainer in the side pocket, key clip in the front section (I'm forever wondering where I've left my car keys when on the way back from the plane) and the orange interior to make things stand out (and look pretty cool, I'm a KTM owner ;)).
There's a ton of space in the bag. I recently took an overnight business trip and packed in both the 15.6in laptop with its power brick, headphones and external drive, a 13in work laptop, headset and powerbrick, phone charger and cables, laptop cooler stand, two mice, assorted cables, kindle, a wash bag and a change of tshirt/uwear.
This bag also has an awesome retainer strap that will fit over the handle of your wheelie case for longer trips with more luggage (this is the reason I bought this over the Everki Flight ironically enough).
All in all, solidly constructed and great quality.
The bag is is not check point friendly...
The whole selling point of the design is that you don't need to remove your laptop to place it through an airport scanner. This isn't allowed. I must have done 10 trips, going through the USA, the UK, China and Russia and every time without fail... "Please remove your laptop and place it in a separate tray." No matter how many times I demonstrate or explain the design of the bag, they won't allow it. Laptop separate. In it's own tray, every time. So that's why I docked it a star because you aren't actually allowed to use this feature...
The bag though is utterly fantastic. It is a 5* bag otherwise, maybe even 6... It is incredibly well made, durable and sterdy. I've had 15kg of weight in there on occassions and I can pick it up with 1 strap and throw it over my shoulder and I don't feel like it's going to rip at the seams anywhere. The zips are solid metal and feel like they'll last forerver. And the interior uses a gorgeous type of felt. In short, I've had this bag 6 months now, travelled with it quite a lot and it still feels and looks brand new.
There are tonnes of compartments, There's 4 main ones including the laptop compartment, and a 5th open compartment on the back. A top pocket for valueables (I love this) and 2 side pockets. In each of these compartments are mini compartments for various things as well, like documents or even pens. It also has a strap that allows you to attach it to the pulley of a small suitcase if you don't want to carry it.
That being said, with so many compartments at your disposal, you can't actually get a great deal into the bag sometimes. If you put something large into one of the compartments, then you're not going to be able to use any of the other compartments because the material isn't going to stretch. This wastes quite a lot of the space. So there have been times where I've wanted to put something quite large in there, which would easily fit, but it's not been possible due to the interior design of the bags compartments. But this is fine. It may be something that you might want to bare in mind however.
It's not the most practical of bags for this reason, but if you're organised and will be filling it with tonnes of small to medium sized stuff, then it is certainly worth the cost later down the line. I have heard plenty of stories of a lifetime warrenty too.
It is a fantastic bag. Worth the cost certainly. It is a very attractive bag. (A lot nicer than the main photo makes it out to be) Whenever I go anywhere or out on a day trip, i genuinely feel as if I have the best bag around. (Sort of like owning a mercedes I guess?) Top quality ruksack. One of my best Amazon purchases. I have just given it 4 stars for the lack of actually being able to use it as the checkpoint friendly bag it claims.
The other main reason I bought this bag was for the TSA approved airport security feature allowing the bag to be zipped down seperating the laptop from the main compartment alleviating the need to take the laptop out of the bag when going through security. Unfortunately I found out that airports in the UK and Norway do not recognise this and still request you to take the laptop out of the bag. Which is annoying! Howver this does not take anything away from the bag itself. I couldnt recommend this bag enough! Well worth the price tag.
I'm a freelance editor, who regularly travels and needs to carry a laptop, large headphones, hard drives, paperwork, etc, on a regular basis. This item has been a great find and makes carrying such a load a very mobile experience, as opposed to trying to carry to many things in a shoulder bag.
It is quite a reassuringly, heavy duty bag, which some may find too large and understandably would want a lighter bag. However, the compartments in this bag are so well designed and thought out that you fit a great deal in it without it ever starting to bulge, therefore smaller than some other bags that can carry less.
A very satisfying purchase. I would have never thought of myself as a person that would be so chuffed with my choice of bag. Oh how things change!!!
The laptop and tablet compartment at the back keeps the equipment safe and yet easily accessible when going through security at airports.
We will definitely buy other products Everki.
Comfortable to carry, and sleeve is perfect to slide over carry handle of other luggage (the reason I ended up buying this as a replacement for an old Targus bag which had a great life but the newer model dropped this feature).
Zips are lockable, but very metallic and rattly when walking.
If this lasts as long as my previous bag (about 5 years) it will be worth the money, but if not then this is a bit on the expensive side.
Loads of pockets and compartments. Just watch the video, you don't need me to tell you!
The thick straps and adjustment straps make it quite comfortable. Metal zips, and dangley bits wot you pull the zips with (what are they called?!) are a quality touch. Manufacture seems good. Lining inside laptop pouch is really soft.
My laptop is 13.3 inch, and fits well in the pouch when the pocket adjusted to the smallest size.
I highly recommend this backpack.
Love the fact I can securely store and size laptop - I even used it to carry 2 at the same time.
