Stephen Arterburn is the founder and chairman of New Life Ministries--the nation's largest faith-based broadcast, counseling, and treatment ministry--and is the host of the nationally syndicated "New Life Live!" daily radio program heard on over 180 radio stations nationwide. Steve is also the founder of the Women of Faith conferences, attended by over 3 million women.

Emasculated politically correct "Bible".

This is a politically correct Bible. It changes scripture to fit today's sensitive PC movement. For example, 1st Chronicles 11:10 removes "mighty men" and replaces it with "mighty warriors". I care nothing for political correctness especially when it changes the original text. (I gave this 3 Stars so that people would read this review. I usually avoid reviews of 1 star or 5 stars and focus on 2 to 4 star review. They tend to be more descriptive) It is an emasculated version of the Bible. You'll find also in Acts chapter 28 where it replaces Brothers with brothers and sisters. Reading the Bible clearly indicates that many many women were involved in the furthering of the Gospel. But changing the scripture to include words or exclude words or replace words is simply wrong. Scripture is what it is and doesn't need any help. We know that women were used throughout Judeo Christian history to further the gospel. This is an annoying chipping away at original scripture by a PC crowd. It is called 'Every Man's Bible' but it is simply emasculated. I'm disappointed because I wanted a good study Bible. This is not it.

I bought this bible as a gift. Only read one page and I wasn't disappointed. Temptation was the topic and pointed out how we as man let temptation grow. Also reminding us that there's always a path out of temptation created by God for us. Explaining our consequences if we choose not to take God's path out of temptation. While using samples from the bible; Very important.

I love it so much I purchased another (3rd) as a gift for a doubting friend...he's challenged and agreed to read it at least. I said an uninformed opinion is nothing but ignorance, an unexplored area is unknown, and until all the facts are in, you cannot form an intelligent opinion in which to base an entire philosophy (one way or another). He's an analytical guy.

I will dispense with the preliminaries first: the product arrived on time, as described by Amazon & manufacturer, it was shipped without issue, arrived within prescribed estimates, the packaging was undamaged, and the product itself was unmolested and made with quality materials. Description, photograph, website presentation, and what arrived are the same-size, shape, color, and it matched my expectations. The item was shipped in the box as seen on the website, quality covering, and a quality Bible, the imitation leather feels and looks great. The Bible itself is nice to look at.

On to the practical: my son is 12, I have had the Bible for over a week and have utilized many of the features listed in the product description and I am so impressed with its quality writing, it's comparison to my numerous other Bibles, notably, the King James Catholic version, its spot on and far more informative than three other versions that I purchased this very same Bible for my son. NIV is the Bible in plain English and has a distinct advantage over KJV, I do not have to spend much of my reading time trying to comprehend old English. The features within this version are fantastic, adding depth, character, and a level of personalization I had never envisioned. It highlights a mans duties and scripture specifically geared toward a mans walk, and the character portraits are great. I love it.

This is a great bible! I have a very hard time reading through passages in bibles ever since I was in school. The way this one is laid out, it is very easy to follow. There are great notes in this one that keep me interested and answer almost every question I have during my study. I would highly recommend this bible to anyone that is looking.

As a semi-new believer i'm so glad I found this online. I saw other reviews saying the lettering was too light but I didn't notice it at all no is it difficult to read. This bible has ALOT of cool extra facts ( which many are left open leaving room for differences in opinion, character descriptions (full pages), maps of journeys (also old test. maps), charts of parables by Jesus, disciple names, letters written in prison. I never write reviews but felt nudge to do it on this one. I must say tho I wish I grabbed the New American standard version (if they have one) for more greek/ hebrew translation. Nonetheless it's a great bible and would recommend it for people wanting the facts of the gospel accounts in an easy to read manner.

Really like this Bible. I bought it for a family friend. It has a lot of useful charts, chapter introductions, character studies, etc. These should prove especially helpful for those who may not have a strong background in Christianity or church attendance where they have been exposed to the Bible much in the past. My only knock is that it is not a red letter bible. With all the golden nuggets of useful study materials, maps and charts, printing Jesus' words in red should have been a given, and would be most helpful for those new to the Word.
